One thing that separated Cotto and Mosley in regards to Margarito (other than the wraps controversy) is that Mosley's power meant something to Margarito, whereas Margo didn't mind eating Cotto's shots all night. To land multiple, hard, flush, combinations on a man and have him still walk forward and land punches (regardless of location) is very intimidating and draining to the psyche. And despite the way he performed, even Pac said he had a lot of trouble dealing with him. Should Cotto focus on strength training to make Margarito respect his power, or should he focus on staying on the outside and refraining from going to war? And is he capable of doing this successfully?
No, He should do lots of running so he doesn't gas out, you don't suddenly hit harder by doing 2 months of strength training. I bet Margarito is training twice as hard as Cotto and putting in better road work. I don't think its a coincidence that in the hours of training footage and glimpses released of Cotto, he has never been seen training with any sort of intensity that would rival guys with great work ethic.
define "strength" training atsch i thought it was bad in the training forum for people not knowing what their talking about training wise
Well obviously not just roadwork and speed drills. Upping the resistance, also gathering some proper mass so he isn't dwarfed in size. Then again you didn't put in any valuable input either so why should I bother. atsch
he should commit to the body shots. He made a mistake to head hunt against Margo because he was so easy to hit. Mosley hurt him to the body and took the steam out of the Tornado. Also Margo was in a lot better condition against Cotto no doubt for me...
so he should add mass? mass doesnt equate to strength! Do you mean explosive strength, max strength, strength endurance? i cant put any valuable input until there is actually a question not just a general statement. "Strength" like "Fitness" encompasses too many elements you need to be more specific
