mosley gave margocheato different looks. moved side to side, threw combinations. got in did his damage and then got out. anyone that can apply this strategy to am is going to confuse the hell out of him. he never was even able to get off.

& have a great chin & be willing to take punishment If need be in order to land yours. (Besides Mosley & Williams who else in today's WW scheme fit that bill?)

This isn't necessary at all. Margarito isn't a one-punch KO type of guy, he breaks guys down with accumulation of punches. If a fighter is much quicker than he is, which is most people, and disciplined with some outstanding lateral movement, they can get in & out. Margo can only tee-off on a guy that's in front of him or on the ropes, an excellent out-side fighter who's focus & disciplined throughout the fight can avoid being put in that situation.

You genuinely believe Margarito would beat Floyd? I'd like to here some analysis if that's the case. Could be an interesting debate.

One thing that would have helped Cotto a lot in this fight was to clinch more.

I beleive any welter weight with a heart beat will make Floyd work, I mean the rugged Hatton made Floyd find another way to beat him.
Sorry but I just didnt see skills in the Hatton fight on FLoyds part, it was an ugly fight becuase Floyd never had total control, he allowed it to be ugly.

I saw skills when Hatton was knocked out by Pac, that was about as percise as it gets.....
I just think that Floyd is over rated, and untested against any of the top welters today, he refuses to fight these guys and it all cant be just about their promoter...
I dont buy that **** for one second.

    Wouldn't made any difference!!!
Cotto got tired and frustrated: he hit Margo with EVERYTHING AND KITCHEN SINK!!!
But Margo kept on coming, throwing hooks to the body (knowing very well that, he'll miss the melon anyways, so why try!)
Slow motion hooks still would be connecting, even if Cotto turn lefty!!!
In the rematch: if Cotto gets the brand new bike and plans to POTSHOT AND RUN FOR FULL 12 ROUNDS, he'll have a chance!!! (or Margo's chin got rusty during the ban and he lost the intensity!)
Otherwise it's gonna be the same!!!

I agree, but Cotto's got too much pride to tie up and stop boxing.

Floyd essentially did what he was always going to do, and catch Hatton on the weigh-in. I'm in complete disagreement. I thought Floyd was excellent in that fight, and it really was the turning point in making me appreciate his skills.

The only reason it was ugly, in fairness was because of Hatton. And that's part of his game. He wants to get inside and he'll push, lean, wrestle and do whatever he has to do. Floyd stopped him working inside, albeit with some help from his elbow and Mr Cortez, and then picked him apart when he had the room to let his punches go.

I don't agree with some people that say he struggled up until the stoppage. The only time real moment Hatton had in the fight was when he caught Floyd off-balance with an unexpected jab. Otherwise, I think Floyd pretty much controlled & pretty much won every round, at least 7 of the 9 completed.

I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum, I didn't see any real 'skills' when Pacquiao knocked Hatton out. I think it was just as ugly as the Floyd fight, again because of Hatton leaning and pushing Pacquiao into the ropes and such.

I didn't really see Pacquiao picking Hatton apart with the punches Mayweather did, what I saw was more explosive power and more aggression into the punches, which is why he got rid of Hatton earlier. Also, taking nothing away from Pacquiao - good win for him - but I saw a different Hatton. He approached the Mayweather fight from the opening stages like he could really win. In the Pac fight, I thought he looked more tentative and more unsettled in what he was doing.

You seem to forget that Floyd beat Hatton at his own game (rough house tactics)

Yep. Margarito is a known cheater. In one fight where he wasn't cheating he was knocked flat out. He is 0-1 in fair fights.
