Left Top Rank a long time ago?
I'm askin this simply because obviously i/we don't know what goes on behind the scenes but to me it seems the Bob Father really doesn't care much for the guy. Maybe his career was alil mismanaged?
Looking @ the two losses to bth Top Rank fighters (Margo and Pac) Bob couldn't really care less about Miguel if compared to how he was all over Margo when he lost to Mosley...

Also if it were the case and Cotto made the move, what other promotional company could have got him the big fights he deserves?

Outside a fight with Floyd, which big fight at Welter did Cotto not get?

I've always thought that Top Rank is good at managing careers. Although a lot of times in a way that gives the impression that fighters are being protected. GBP on the other hand seems to rush fighters, and putting them on the big stage immediately. I guess both methods have pros and cons

Arum couldn't have handled Cotto any better. Got him all the good big fights out there, except Floyd like some have mentioned earlier.

The only things that kind of bothered me was Arum supporting Margarito, especially saying the CSAC was out to get him because of Margo's ethnicity...Also how quick the Cotto Pac fight happened (I was one of the people here that thought Cotto could have used a confidence fight after the hard fights against Mosley, Margarito and Clottey).

    Other than that, no complaints.

He was managed great till the Margarito fight... Since then Bob Arum really trashed him... Supported Margie with the hands wrap... Rushed him into a fight with Pacquiao only 4,5 months after a brutal fight with clottey..

Cotto's last 4 fights is in Top Rank's top 10 blockbuster fight (1 is co-promoted by GBP, 3 are solo) for the last 3 years.

He and his immediate family is financially set for life. So NO, eventhough he sometimes lost fights he still got big paydays, he's glad he's not in the same boat as Victor Ortiz.

He and Mayweather are the fighters that Arum can be proud and say he picked from olympic/amateur then hands-on managed well from their debut pro fight.

It wouldn't have been possible, but he should have left the organization after the Mosley win. Arum fed Cotto to Margarito and Clottey, straight up. Trampler and Arum knew everything about Cotto. When they weren't taking calculated risks to propel Cotto's career forward they were feeding him light hitting guys he could break down. Strictly. And not for no reason. They knew Margarito and Clottey were taxing matchups that were sure to run Cotto's odometer through the ceiling, but they pushed them through anyway. I have little doubt something went sour between Team Cotto and Bob Arum sometime late in 2007 or early 2008. They've been taking every bit of shine they put on Cotto back out of his ass, and they wouldn't mind if Foreman gets a little bit either. Cotto has gotten ass raped by Top Rank. He paid dearly for the sins of De La Hoya and Mayweather. You don't get out of Top Rank in one piece. The Bobfather can't have that.

I can't remember all the details and how soon Margo was suspended, but I think Cotto should have rematched him, or should rematch him. Although he squeeked a victory by Clotty (arguably), all his questions and doubts about himself would have been/can be answered. He just still had that mental cloud going into the Clottey fight, and the early cut did nothing to help. Even against Jennings he didn't look like himself.

One thing's for sure, he needs a new trainer!
