Should Cotto rematch Margarito????

i was going to say no, but i can agree with this, maybe even 80-20 split :good, dude shouldnt be getting nice checks anymore

 

Cotto had this in his clause to rematch AM if he would lose. But when AM got caught with the wraps all of that went to the way side. Frankly, like many have said on here already...if AM wants to fight Cotto than he should put the time in and work his way back up. At this point Cotto is ahead and there's no logical reason for him to fight AM right now!

 

I would like to see Cotto redeem his only lost and permanently erase all this nonsense about margo taking something from him, but with that said it doesn't "need" to happen. Margo lost his last fight and has been out of boxing for a year because he was caught cheating. Margo to this point doesn't deserve a big fight with Cotto especially if Cotto beats Pac. It's not a matter of him not deserving it because he was suspended, but he lost his last outing, doesn't own a belt, and hasn't fought in a year. The fight that needs to happen is PBF vs. the winner of Pac vs. Cotto.

 

So if the fight is a $10 million dollar fight. Then Margarito should get $2 million to reward his cheating. Yep that makes sense :huh

Margarito has more to lose than Cotto if they fight, because if Cotto wins the rematch Tony will lose all the support from the boxing fans.

To lose against Cotto will mean that he cheated, it doesn't matter how you look at it all of the boxing community will think he cheated 100% with no need for any proof about the plaster of paris. So that is the worst thing that can happen with his career.

If he were to win against Cotto in the rematch, people will say that he has Cotto's number but there would still be a big question mark based on Mosley fight.

 

Hmmm a difficult question.

I understand Cotto's reasoning for sticking his middle finger up at Margarito, and not letting him get a big pay day. But you just can't help but wish Cotto will get his revenge in back in the ring. In my eyes Cotto is still undefeated, but the brutal Margarito incident is a nasty smudge on his record.

I think Cotto should ask for the lions share of the purse, and of course making him fight at 147 may test the notion of Margarito being drained at that weight. Antonio wants to be back in the mainstream, so the least he could do is accept his small share of the takings for Cotto giving him the chance again.

I think Cotto would like to get a victory over Margo, just like Margo would like the rematch as well to prove he did not cheat against Cotto.
If Cotto gets a good win against Pacquiao, he would be the "Man", and can go on to bigger things like a fight against Floyd or against Mosley. Margo might need the rematch more than Cotto needs it.
I think it would be fair for Cotto to get the bigger share of the pot if they were to rematch, no question about that.
