Since Spence is having a unification fight with Ugas and there are talks of Josh Taylor stepping up in weight is this the most logical move for Crawford? By taking this fight he would be setting up an undisputed showdown against the winner of Spence Vs Ugas as well as getting a pretty easy high profile win against a Josh Taylor who is coming of the worst performance of his career.
Crawford is coming up on the wrong side of thirty and probably doesn't want to be the example Taylor needs to set at Welterweight. I'm not saying Taylor beats Crawford however Taylor has to know he lost his last fight and will be looking to make a statement in his next fight after moving up. He would give Crawford hell all night and Crawford just isn't that guy anymore. Add to that the fact Spence is running out of opponents and time himself. I think Crawford will hold out, fighting bums in Omaha, until the fight between the two gets made or he retires.
From a Crawford perspective, Taylor coming off a poor showing and the stink of the decision against Catteral, it's a bit of lose-lose for Bud. If he looks great, then Taylor was on the slide / not all that, with the Catterall fight as evidence, plus there is it's TTTs 1st fight at 147, Bud detractors would use that as well. Given that Taylor now seems to be swithering about going up and maybe giving El Gato a rematch, I'm not sure the fight gets made - Taylor would be mad to go straight in against Bud at 147
If crawford has the oportunity to do it, OF COURSE. I would prefer if he fights spence first, but if the fight with spence is not possible, to me a fight with taylor is awesome too. I agree with people saying that he would KO taylor more or less easily, but that's a different question.
Nah He should either fight the winner of Spence vs Ugas or move up to fight the winner of Mel Charlo vs B CastaƱo.
Crawford needs to have some legitimate fights at 147..part time commentator Porter was not that fight (esp with his dodgy dad suspiciously throwing in the towel)
