Should damage be a bigger factor in scoring bouts?

Or we can score more 10-10 rounds. Too often fighters win a round without landing anything of note, usually in the first round.
So often you have swing rounds or 60% of fans scored if for fighter A. If it’s close, call it a draw and it would push fighters to press on the action instead of coasting to boring fights.

Surely there is technology with GPS(following the guys around the ring) to measure/detect the strength/power of each punch landed relative to weight of fighters on fight night to be fair(bigger guys fighting smaller guys). Calculate the actual force landed and do the stats. Instead of just saying power punches, why not get more detail?

They can tweak it to measure the force for each round on punches landed.

I didn’t mean it in an exactly bloody type of way, but a scoring system that’s a bit more rewarding towards offense. I understand that scoring does favor offense to an extent, but it has always felt a bit too broad for me. A rd where only a single jab is landed can give a guy a 10-9 and a rd where 20+ power shots are landed is also a 10-9. That just never made sense to me. Surely a fighter should be rewarded more for putting in the extra effective effort.

That’s not really my point, just more scoring in favor of offense. Doesn’t have to be bloody and heads getting shook all the time, but a fighter winning a point from pitty patting shouldn’t be the same as a fighter winning a point from actual effective power shots.

Yeah, they could make use of the 10-8 round for one sided rounds with no knockdown. That's what I would do.

The judges score it according to how much they get paid.

    Or laid.

IMHO the fairest way would be to look at the boxrec stats (for each round) and then rate the fight (10:8 left for knockdown).
But that would also be absurd.

So, force could possibly count more than damage? What if you have someone with an iron chin? Guys like Golovkin get cracked and don't blink, but the punch was powerful. I think there are too many variables. Guys that are awesome fighters that lack power, guys with iron chins would be at a disadvantage. What about guys moving up. They may not punch as hard as the average guy in the new weight. Usyk doesn't hit as hard as AJ or Wilder. Is it fair his punches wouldn't count the same? No, as flawed as the system we have now, I think it's better than any other system we can think of.

If you give judges this power they just will not use it because they do not want to have an oversized influence on the fights outcome. Look at MMA which uses 10-8 in this manner. The knockdown is a clear and objective 10-8.

No if the fight is close just deduct points from fighter's overall tallies who run like a gazelle, hold like an octopus, grunt like a hog when they punch, are massive weight bullies, and who rock ugly ring attire and colours which clash.

That type of dominance throughout a round IMO is more rare than knockdowns........it's also very subjective and usually if someone is getting beaten pillar to post the ref stops while they're on their feet. If refs didn't stop how they now do, yeah I think maybe they'd be more common.

It don't happen that often because it don't happen that often..................

No round in that fight warranted being a 10-8 round IMO.............(and yes I think Loma won at least 7 rounds of that fight and should've gotten the decision).
