Should damage be a bigger factor in scoring bouts?

Doesn't matter. We're going on a scoring system. The harder punch gets more weight. At the end of the day it's boxing and scoring and not how pretty you look vs. some other guy.

Fights should just go until stoppage or capitulation (by fighter or corner).
It wouldn't necessarily be the blood bath people think. If one fighter has had enough they just stop or the team stops it and the fight is settled. It happens anyway plenty of times where the 'quit' is concealed a bit but still obvious.
It would also stop the tactic of getting a lead then defending it by running around because the fight is 'about to end'.

Scoring works like this in boxing. Whoever is the A-side, wins the round.

I didn't say that did I? It would obviously be done on a round by round basis.

I was responding to your post in regard to the OP. Which is asking, should the fighter causing more damage be awarded the win. With AI, the scenario given, the fight is a draw. Unless, like another poster mentioned, that AI will be able to determine punch force, which would take scoring to a completely different level.

Score each round by itself. Don’t score the blood. Strong emphasis on clean effective punching. Start handing out 10-8 rounds more often and the fight can quickly be out of reach for the losing fighter causing most casual fans to lose interest and also causing a lot of fighters to throw in the towel before the end of the fight.

Damage should be the judge? Why not. I would have gone with Referee but either way. He can smash the fighters if enough of it isn't happening.
