I think if DLH goes for a big name he will be beaten and in this case you know it wont be his last fight. He wont want to have the embarrassment of another loss no matter what he says.

    Just sayin'

I just read that DLH said he's only fighting one more fight, period. It would be pretty lame if it were against another Forbes. He might as well fight the winner of Cotto - Margarito. That would be a legacy fight.

DLH doesn't care if it's an easy fight or not as long as the name is big and the fans would tune-in he'll take it. The reason why he wants his next fight to be a big-name and possibly easy(Hatton) is because he also claimed that he wants 2 big fights. The first being easy and the second/last being very hard(Cotto/Marg winner).

well the combination of big name and easy fight at the same time would be logical

i have made a thread about this months ago regarding oscar

he could fight malignaggi at the square or at the NYC yankee stadium and it would do big time..

he could also choose pac and yes it would also sell big time..

hatton in the U.K or in the vegas would also sell and probably much more than floyd-dlh

he could fight mora to get another championship ring but it wouldn't be that big but at least i think it would have a decent amount of sales as a lot of people also knew mora from the contenders.

ALL the fights said above imo are big+easy fights for oscar

I see 2 possible "Legacy Fights" for Oscar:

    1. Winky Wright - The man that has beaten 2 of his conquerors.

    2. Sergio Mora - Oscar could very plausibly win this fight, and end his career capturing the WBC strap :deal

An easy fight ... i'm sure that he's not going to end his career against someone who has a legit chance of beating him.

I would say easy fight, but there's a way that he can get both out of his next opponent.

I know one thing - he's not going to fight Cotto or Margarito

He's not gonna fight Margo but it's not for the bozo reason you're implying! He spent his career fighting the best and biggest names in the sport, he is the biggest star of our generation. He's not gonna end his career against a relative unknown in Margarito, a man who's claim to fame and greatest accomplishment is beating Kermit Cintron twice.

For the record, Hoya would make chop meat of Margarito :deal

Arrrgh! It ****ing pisses me off how overrated Margarito is becoming again! I genuinely like the guy and love watching him box, but people are so irrational when analyzing him. There are different levels of fighters and when one one a lower level fights one on a higher level they get extremely outclassed! Antonio Margarito is not fighting at an elite level, he doesn't have elite level skills and has not beat ANY fighters even close to being elite. Paul Williams schooled him for the first 1/2 of the fight and exposed how limited and slow he really is.....But some feel Floyd Mayweather and Oscar Delahoya wouldn't be able to expose the same deficiencies?????? Those are 2 of the best pure boxers of the past 20 years! Even at this late age, Oscar would embarass him.

He should fight a big name (Margarito-Cotto/Winky/Hatton) and then an easy opponent in his last fight.

Oscar is finished as a top level operator like he use to be.
He still grind his body into shape in a 3 month training camp but now he is just scraping through the fights.
Floyd Mayweather didnt so much beat De La Hoya as much as Oscar faded down the strecth to lose the latter part of the fight.
Oscar has lost all his major fights over the last couple of years.

    Mosley - lost points.
Felix Strum - come on be fair he lost the fight.
Bernard Hopkins - lost KO 9
    Mayweather - lost points.
he hasnt got it anymore at the elite level and steve forbes shows he has slipped even more.

He fights a elite fighter like Cotto I think he is going to get stopped for the second time in his career.

I think for hype and fincial and marketing reasons and to set new box office records he could fight Hatton.

Both are faded fighters but De La Hoya is huge next to Hatton and can stop/outpoint Hatton who is a fading force himself.
