Should Eddie Hearn Be Given Absolute Control Over Professional Boxing In The UK.

Absolutely ridiculous, losses don't harm boxer's careers necessarily especially when they're younger, taking a tough assignment and losing but learning a lot is a good thing. It didn't hurt Haye or Burns or even Khan, fights not being made are what is hurting the sport the most in my opinion and why the public no longer care. When the two biggest stars in the same weight class won't fight each other for hundreds of million it kind of says it all. Price must be absolutely burnt he didn't get the big money Fury fight now, all the people saying they should wait have now possibly squashed our chances to see it.

If the fights start happening and we can get some good rivalries built up, with Sky really pushing them like they did with Hatton then boxing could be huge again in the UK.

Eddie hardly started from scratch like his dad or Frank, did he? He had quite a considerable leg up. Thats the point Im making and you are ignoring

 

I have never ignored it but I don't like the way it dismisses Hearn obvious work ethic. He is the hardest working man in British Boxing right now.

There was no Chelsea/Abramovic style rise to the top. He hasn't gone along throwing cash at fighters. Has the finančal security of his company allowed him to take more risks, no doubt. But Frank and every other promoter that had a TV deal should have been able to sign Barker, Brook, Froch etc and do what he has done with them.

Hearn said there breaking even from Boxing, and Matchrooms profits have inceased since there 2010 when they started to push big in Boxing again (although that may not be down to Boxing)

 

Great for Dana White, not so great for the fighters or the fans always!

 

whats happening is not a monopaly, just an example of where a paticular party as to much dominance. an example of where this has affected sport is Manchester City. They can outspend everyone, and have specifically targeted there rivals players. As a result the quality of the Premier League has dropped, and City have not delivered.

 

This, although I wouldnt mind a government affiliated sanctioning body to step in just now.

For it to work like UFC (underpants ***s clashing) it would have to be a world governing body and because its not a new sport like the UFC,it just wont happen.Eddie Hearn is doing a good job but he would get schooled in the states when it comes to back room ****.he is a bit of a nugget.

Agree with this. A loss is not a career killer like it used to be.

 

Its not Eddie Hearns fault. That is for sure.

Anyone put in his position would do exactly the same as him.

But, British Boxing needs more than one promoter to compete with Hearn to give him some competition otherwise things will become very dull very quickly.

 

What a very, very, very stupid post this is.
