HEarn can go **** himself. He's a greedy ******* and he's trying to milk as much money as he can from a potential rematch between AJ and Usyk cause he knows AJ won't be worth **** if Fury beats him.
If AJ/Hearn are actually smart, they would give the Joshua needed time to actually recover(he had incredible tough and long camp as well), and to do the needed improvements(in his mind), and let Fury vs Usyk destroy each other, and Joshua face the winner of that fight, while staying busy with an easy fight he hadn't have in a years. And he won't be coming off a lose. For me this is his best bet. He could always rematch Usyk later(if he lose to Fury), which will be good for him, simply because Usyk will probably fade more in the upcoming years due to his advance age. This is what a smart move is, and what is best for the division.
I agree. Rematch clause should be allowed, only if its for a title fight, and the guy has at least 5 consecutive defense of the title. Then he 100% deserve the rematch, if he had a bad night or so.
Personally I don't think they should ever be allowed. I only have interest in immediate rematches if the first fight was very close or competitive. In which case public will demand it.
This is very true. Do you think any boxing promoter puts what is best for the fans above what is best for their own financial interests ? Eddie ? Bob ? Don ? Oscar ? Any of them ?
I’d rather see a Fury v Wallin rematch than the fight with Whyte tbh and I’d love to see Hearns face if Wallin does the double over Whyte .
Yep. If Wallin beats Whyte...make Wallin - Fury 2. Whyte can't keep getting immediate rematches every time he loses to an underdog. Better yet would be Usyk - Fury for the whole ball of wax. Eddie and AJ can be placated with a guarantee of an immediate fight with the winner. That would be a much bigger fight with a bigger purse than AJ - Usyk 2. And it would remove the (very distinct) possibility of AJ losing to Usyk before getting a crack at unified, undisputed.
Ignoring Usyk here. The fact his promotional team have already agreed to the rematch says usyk wants the rematch just as much as AJ does and why wouldn't he? Usuyk is going to get paid an absolute fortune for a fight he fully believes he will win. An opponent his already beaten.
Abosolute fortune and other noise associated with prize fighting is not casual dream for road out of poverty etc dreams. These dreams are like insisting about Usyk's low purses. Yeah, for sure if it was take home ( after manager's and fighters promoter's and training camp and team plus add taxman after this. Yeah ) not on " paper ". Not to insist that Usyk was cheaper than Dorodola for fight vs Briedis etc nonsense noise.
Fury v Usyk / Joshua v Whyte makes way more sense for everyone. The fans get the fight they want and Joshua gets a tuneup before fighting for the undisputed instead of having to fight Fury AND Usyk for it. Plus Whyte makes a packet rematching Joshua. // I don't really understand why Hearn isn't pushing that idea.
