Should Fighters Get 1 Rehearsal w/ Eachother Before Their Pro Match?

  1. No. Someone could get KO'd, cut, injured, etc..

    No reason for it.

rehearsal fight? Takes away many of the questions of the fight. Better just to have the fight. I am having a hard time understanding the practical reasons for a rehearsal.

No man, this might change, who knows how many people might see this thread - we want the good ideas to rise and the bad to fall - if the comissions thinks this is a good idea theyw ill run with it - don't b uptight sometime u don't get ur way in life but it's for the boxers health

    How would this work, realistically???
The promoter of said event would have to pay 2 times for one card, including, but not limited to, the following expenses:
Arena, rental and insurance** ------**On both the venue and for all fighters
    Commission Fees
    Doctors
Medical Equipment (Stretcher, braces, ambulances, etc)
Pay for fighters & training staff to fly out and stay in hotels for 2 WEEKS plus meal money for the fighters
Pay for the ring to be set up (and possibly dismantles & re-set up again 2 Weeks later)
Pay for fight inspectors 2 Times
Pay for referees, judges 2 Times
Make sure fighters medicals are up-to-date
Make secure fighters license are valid (no suspensions) and are up-to-date
Guaranteeing that said venue/arena is not booked the day of "rehearsal"
Guaranteeing that the commision, judges, doctors are available on both dates / Conflicting with other fights (MMA or Boxing)
And what about the fighters that take fights on less than 2 week notice. They can claim that they did not get a "rehearsal" fight, and their respective team could claim the legitimate fight was fixed against them (ie: Robbery)
Most promoters lose money on REAL cards, and asking them to house a "rehearsal" card would mean they would promote less card-- less fights, less boxing. Promoters want to pay the bare minimum on their shows, and any further expenses forces them to promote less shows, which in turn could effectively cost boxing fans, and cost boxers pay days.

I guess he is missing the the meaning of "fight". Maybe we could have let the Japanese rehearse for Perl Harbor? The Nazis should have gotten a preview of D-Day. Saddam Hussein certainly would have appreciated some insight into "Shock and Awe". Yep, that's how ya have a fight. Ya "rehearse" it with the other side. :rofl

Yes I can read, and you CLEARLY stated in your OP that it would be a COMMISSIONED SANCTIONED PRACTICE FIGHT. And ANYONE who KNOWS ANYTHING about boxing knows that ALL SANCTIONED FIGHTS come with a price tag that the promoter must pay. And those fees are pretty much what I stated in my post.

As for housing the "Practice" fights in a private gym, in some states (in the USofA) & in some countries, NO SANCTIONED FIGHTS ARE ALLOWED TO TAKE PLACE IN PRIVATE BOXING GYMS or RESIDENT HOUSEHOLD WITHOUT AN INSURANCE CLAUSE BROUGHT FORTH BY SAID RESIDENT--(ie: Hugh Hefner pays $20,000 insurance fee for fights at the Playboy Mansion) OR BY SAID PROMOTER (the fee is usually tripled or quadrupled, according to state/province/county/country/federal law).

So, if you were a promoter, would you wants to spend 3 to 4 times the amount of money 2 WEEKS prior to your scheduled card???

Also, what about boxers that are on press tours??? How would it affect them, and the promotional side of the fight???

See this is why I'd be against it. The biggest problem in boxing right now is clearly overattendance, and exhibition fights open the public would allow more people to be able to see a fight live.
