Should Floyd be considered lucky in a sense?

When you look at history, there are several skilled fighters who were excellent that got flat out robbed in their careers. Similar fighters like Pernell, Winky and Lara were robbed in fights that they dominated.

It is pretty amazing that Floyd hasn't been robbed. There were a couple fights where Floyd could have been screwed over.

There's only like two fights where he could have been screwed over.

    Maidana 1 and Castillo 1.

Maybe you need to look at the definition of screwed over.

Castillo could've gone either way in my opinion. Only because it's floyd people say castillo got ''robbed''.

Maidana 1 was clearly Floyd's. He landed the cleaner blows, maidana landed on the guard most of the time.

The only fights where ive seen Floyd get the worst on the cards were Delahoya and Canelo.

You could Argue Madiana got the draw in the first fight just like you could argue Castillo beat Mayweather . . . . . Personally I think he did enough to win both but giving Delahoya and Canelo a nod . . . I just cant see it

Ok...once again... I'm not talking about close fights... we're talking about someone getting ROBBED.
Fights he could have been robbed in Castillo 1 and 2, ODH, Alvarez, Maidana 1 and 2.

There's no fights of his where he could have been robbed like a Garcia vs Herrera or something.

I think he beat Maidana in the first fight but i could see how the judges would say Maidana. You could consider it a robbery like many thought the Alvarez vs Lara fight was a robbery.

When the Alvarez vs Lara fight was a close fight. Even then it was considered a robbery against Lara.

In regards to Castillo and Maidana 1, they would be considered robberies by many no matter who won IMO. When I referred to Lara I actually meant the Paul Williams fight... but the Canelo fight was bad too.

Edit: Had Guerrero "beaten" Floyd that would have been a worse robbery than that poor bugg*r Herrera. Feel bad for him.

Well i guess he's lucky especially earlier on in his career when he wasn't a big name. Boxing is so corrupt so in a sense i guess he has been lucky overall. It's hard to say he ever got lucky on paper as all his fights bar one or two are easy to give to Mayweather.

I think the Garcia Herrera fight was probably paid off. The same with the Lara Williams fight.

Herrera and Lara have a lot of bad luck when it comes to scoring. It's as if the promoters and judges want them out of the game.

It's usually the star name who will get the decision in a hometown or by robbery. Or an upcoming rising star will squeek a robbery.

Herrera got robbed again against Benavidez Jr. Boxing is so corrupt.

I was kind of thinking along those lines too. I know the comment I'm about to make is going to get this tossed into the master thread, BUT it wouldn't surprise me if Arum called in every favor he could to get a favorable Pac scorecard if they do fight.

The Bradley vs Pacquiao 1 fight was paid off by Arum no doubt. He advertised the rematch before the 1st fight ever took place.

If Mayweather fights Pacquiao and it's a SD. I think it will come down to who paid the judges more Arum or Haymon.

That's how corrupt boxing still is.

Arum, Pacquiao and Bradley got paid twice because of the first fight. From a financial standpoint fixing fights makes sense.

How sad is it that I can't find a valid counterpoint to this? This for me has been a mosrly terrible boxing year and I have stopped watching a lot of fights. Unfortunately I did catch Thursdays fights and, no surprise, a huge robbery took place.

The judges who turned in cards against him (happened 3 times) were clearly paid off, personally attached/bias, or drunk/high as hell... No way Oscar, Canelo, or Maidana won 5 rounds in any of those fights. So he almost got robbed in those fights and technically got robbed of his "only Unanimous Decisions streak" that he had before the Oscar fight.

Look into the epic money at the bookies going down on a Draw for the Alvarez fight the morning of their match. A lot of bookies had to temporarily shut down to investigate the bets and reassess how to adjust the odds.

No surprise one judge gave it to Oscar, who was at that time the most powerful man in all of boxing.
