Should Floyd be fed to the wolves or should he fight a B-class fighter

In this country, Garcia is just as popular as Khan, which isn't saying much. When Khan fights the crowd is never sold out. Not sure where this idea came from that Khan brings the numbers. He doesn't.

 

I'm not paying to see Floyd fight anyone unless he fights GGG.

That's the problem when you fight a riskless bull**** style, and get awarded fights that YOU DIDN'T WIN.

Why would I want to watch him against stone feet, Garcia.

That's a terrible fight.

 

It would, but you just have to look it at Floyd's perspective of what he's most likely to do if you want to figure out his next move.

And there's a 0% chance he'll ever do that. I'd love it, but he won't do it.

Even your bltch ass knows Mayweather vs Garcia is a terrible fight.

Especially if you consider how Garcia looked in his last fight.

Nobody wants to pay for that ****.

 

I know, believe me. Neither of them are known at all by casuals, so Floyd would have to promote the hell out of both.

Also, on Khan not selling out, 100% agree. The MGM was empty for his fight with Devon and being free on TV, a million people didn't even watch it. He over exaggerates his appeal waaayyyy too much.

 

Look at Cotto's recent resume...

2011: W TKO shot Mayorga
2011: W RTD shot, injured Margarito
2012: L Wide UD to Floyd
2012: L Wide UD to Trout
2013: L TKO low-level Delvin Rodriguez
2014: W RTD shot, injured Sergio

He hasn't had a meaningful win since he got a controversial nod over Clottey in 2009. Floyd beat him handily once and he would beat him even more handily now. Floyd has kept his speed an awful lot better than Cotto.

Floyd is an even bigger star now than he was then. The second fight would do comparable numbers to the first, and you think a Khan/Floyd fight would do more than 1.5mil? Khan is an unknown to US fans.

 

Styles make fights.

As long as Cotto is healthy, it's one of the better fights to be made.

I would consider watching a rematch. The first fight was close.

The problem is, you can beat Floyd up for 7 rounds against the ropes, but somehow he gets the rounds, even if he's throwin bltch shots off the ropes.

Honestly, fighting Floyd is straight bull****, cuz the only way to beat him is to KO him apparently.

Wrong. Garcia is more well known in the US than Khan. By a good margin too.

Danny has been fighting on American networks for some time now and his last fight averaged 3.4 million viewers.

There are also 3 times more Puerto Ricans than there are Brits living in the continental US.

More people of Puerto Rican descent now live stateside than live in Puerto Rico.

Alright, let's break this down for a moment.

Garcia fought on free television, which explains how many viewers watched him.

And to be honest, considering how terrible he looked in that fight, I don't think that helped him.

If anything, it exposed him for having concrete feet and being one dimensional.

Why would ANYONE pay to see Floyd pot shot him?

There is no intrigue with that fight whatsoever.

That would be a total PPV flop.

 

But you know very little about boxing...

 

That's why I said I'm not convinced he's better under Roach, lol. I'd have to see his performance against Geale to have a better evaluation of where he's at.

Floyd's a bigger star, but you have to keep in mind...

1) He's coming off of heavy criticism and a huge amount of casuals are turned off from Mayweather (and Pacquiao and the sport of boxing for that matter) after the disappointing "Fight of the Century".

2) Cotto isn't a big enough star known by casual fans to warrant a rematch where he lost decisively. So, Mayweather may be a bigger star now, but a lot of casuals are turned off right now, he's fighting an opponent who's appeal has dropped immensely, and it's a rematch.

All those three things together just spell failure for me. Why not do Khan? It's fresh, it's new. He has England. I think this appeals more to Floyd. But, to your question, no. I don't think Floyd/Khan would do 1.5 million buys. Honestly, I think Floyd would be lucky to hit 1 million with any opponent that he chooses right now.

That's why I said I'd totally understand if he just skips his September fight and sails off to one of his private islands to enjoy his Pacquiao fight winnings.

 

It would do more numbers than a Khan fight :deal

Jesus, even Garcia/Salka almost average a million viewers and people were talking about 'boycotting' that fight.

Garcia/Salka did 100K more average viewers than Khan/Alexander.
