Ortiz has problems that have nothing to do with boxing. He would have been a way bigger star after the Floyd fight if he had decided he actually cared about the sport.

Guerrero was never going to be a star but he's a damn sight more well known by the public now than he was before he got whooped by Floyd and his earning potential is the better for it. His career high purse before the Floyd fight was $1mil against Berto. He made the same amount against Kamaegi his next fight after Floyd and Kaemagi was completely unknown to casuals, and then the fight after that he made $1.5m against Thurman. So since the Floyd fight Guerrero has had 2 fights and both paydays were equal to or greater than any purse he had received before the Floyd fight. Now take into account that he received 3 fights worth of previous career best paydays the night he fought Floyd.

Fighting Floyd can only do you good in terms of making money down the line. Haymon will happily put Garcia in with Floyd, he will not be worried about 'risking' Garcia's ability to make money because he will be enhancing it no matter what happens in the ring.

It usually is. Mayweather had to sell his soul in order to get paid. The majority of people who watch him fight, watch it to see him lose.

Who will watch him fight again? Mayweather was riding off of Pacquaio for years because people hated him because he wouldn't fight Pacquaio, so they watched to see if anyone would beat him.

Now that he "fought" Pacquaio in a risk free, terrible fight, where Pacquaio looked like he wasn't in a fight, nobody is going to pay him fight anyone but someone like GGG or possibly Cotto.

Matthysse, Brook, Thurman, spence are all A level and in there prime so don't expect to see Floyd go that route

This isn't the f ucking WWF. The wolf in question would actually have to be able to beat Floyd. Facing him alone has got people popularity (Ortiz/Guerrero/Maidana) and that's about as good as anyone from LWW to JMW can do. But all these fighters do after they face him is go on a run of inactivity spending the money from the Floyd sweepstakes, above mentioned fighters most notably.

 

I think beating anyone at 147 is fine, even bring up a 140 if he needs to, but at this point in his career, absolutely no need to take on a huge challenge and face someone who has a distinct chance of injuring/hurting him.

I think he'll beat Golovkin in a fight, but it's the amount of damage he has to take to do that.
