Should Floyd Mayweather even be considered in the p4p rankings any more?

The thing that's scary as a Floyd fan is his style doesn't lend to being a dominant old man like say B-Hop. Floyd relies on his reflexes, handspeed, and footwork to be the fighter he is. Let's say he takes this thing to trial, it could be up to 2-3 years before a trial wraps up. These are some serious charges and when kids are involved, no jury in the United States is gonna think his son would lie about his dad who he really looks at as a hero. So at this point, I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. I think even best case scenario he comes back as a 37 year old emotionally beaten down man and it's over man. They are gonna throw the book at him because kids were involved.

Oh and I am being objective, it's not easy to pull your favorite fighter off an active p4p list when you know he's the most talented fighter on Earth. I just can't be true to myself and say he's still deserving of consideration as an inactive fighter.

Well he should as he beat Mosley convincingly who was top 5 pound for pound. Although Mosley was only there by default, as no one else was worthy in what has been a poor top ten of late.

That's another reason Mayweather is still ranked so high, with no great fighters other than Pac doing anything special to deserve being ranked ahead of him.

However Mayweather's inactivity should play against him when matched up against Pac for the top spot. No way can he be ahead of Pac having only one great win in the last 2 years, when Pac has had 3-4 great wins through 5 divisions in that time. Pac is streets ahead of him.

Honestly being a 28 year old man who has been in a couple of run ins with the law I speak from experiance when I say the law is nothing but a business just like everything else. If you have money it really can be a game like poker or what not. They will offer Floyd a deal. Floyd will offer Harris a deal. Who really knows what all can happen when theres money involved. I tend to think worst case scenario also because its a safe bet to assume the best but prepare for the worst. Josie Harris isn't the smartest tact you know. And also it's what you can prove. Not what you seen or heard. The Law is full of **** is what I'm mostly trying to say.

As far as your concerns for Floyds skill. When Ali legs were gone he relied heavily on the rope a dope. He couldn't move anymore and it resulted to alot of punishment taken. RJJ when his legs and reflexes were gone he had no technical skill to back up his lack of athleticism just like Ali. Floyd I trully feel is a different case. He's not highly offensive but he still has offensive skills that really not too many have even come to posess. Like B-Hop he really takes care of his body and he's a gym rat. I just think he has to many intagibles to end up like a RJJ or an Ali. Defensively he still owns. It's all opinion but I don't even think Floyds legs are gone. Well all find out in the end.Bottom line just like B-Hop Floyd has great fundamentals added with technical skill and knowledge. If he manages to get his ass back in the ring I think he'll really prove that.

All hardcore fight fans know the p4p lists are inaccurate. Read my last few posts.

both starched's and alisjab's posts have a point (p4p lists are inaccurate as ****). even though the marquez fight is **** (he's too old to make him climb @ WW) and shane is not in his prime anymore, the fact that those guys (he beat) are top 2 and 3 in the p4p rankings respectively. gives him the right to claim a high spot on the p4p list.
