It's simple economics slash survival of the fittest quite frankly. Fighter A makes more and generates more. Fighter B never seen a 15 million dollar payday in his life let alone 40 million . Fighter A has comcrete proof for hise case. Fighter B has people who hate Fighter A and think that's reason enough to why Fighter B should get somthing he can never do without Fighter A . Morals mean **** in real life, nature, existence and especially business . Fighter B isn't going to make as much as Miquel Cotto this year. Now why is that? Hype can only get you so far. If it isn't backed up by somthing tangible then it's worthless.

Manny doesn't deserve 50/50. Floyd makes more in one fight what Manny is worth. See Forbes for proof . Thats like a business partner who chips in less but expects the same cut of the person who contributed more. How the **** does that make sense to anyone with half a brain. Thats like stupid ass Tiger Woods who gave away half a billion to a worthless broad of "HIS OWN" hard owned money . Even the church requires 10 and has no shame accepting any contribute from any patron. Prayer isn't even enough for those who supposedly mastered faith and understanding of GOD who doesn't need money or anything for he is all powerful and omnipotent.

People believe in the dumbest ****. You think Nike gives Manny millions ? Try 75k to 200k tops. Manny is the equivalent to a ****ing ****** on steroids who's puppeteered by a jewish snake charmer. He's a circus act at best. You like fairy tales I recommend Disney's Aladdin if you want to believe in dreams coming true. Manny is a street rat himself. But in the real world there's no ****ing genies that can defy simple physics making someone who earns 7 million a fight on average deserve ten times what he's used too. Cotto will vouch for that. Trust me. I'm just asking you ****s to come back to real life. You have to walk the walk and talk the talk. Manny is just the chicken who knows how to play tic tac toe. Floyd is the P.T Barnum of muther****ing boxing. He's one of Americas' premiere showman. Get the **** out of here with your naive ignorance . Try to grow up children.

you should take your own advice on that last line if you want to take this **** so serious on a boxing forum, but here's the truth behind this split dilemma....

it's got less to do with what each fighter 'deserves' and everything to do with the fundamental problem of greed and federations in this fine sport.

both pac and floyd are bigger than the sport in the sense that they don't need or care about belts, so the federations (which are tainted to begin with) lose any weight in this argument.

that should never happen in any sport, but because boxing is so fragmented and doesn't have one governing body to lend real credibility to the belts..they become meaningless to guys like pac and floyd.

40+ years ago, some big fights were made over a coffee and a handshake in 30 minutes. but now that it's all about egos and if the fighter feels like it, we will probably miss out on the one fight thhat will make boxing THE sport for one night.

they should fight 40-40 and 20% to the winner if they both feel they deserve it...that still affords them about 40-50 mill each.

but no-one can make them if one or both 'don't feel like it'

Pacquiao tops Mayweather in PPV buys for last three fights
    January 26th, 2012
By John F. McKenna (McJack): World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KO’s) has topped WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26 KO’s) in Pay Per View (PPV) buys for his last three fights. In addition Pacquiao’s live gate attendance far exceeds Mayweather during the same time span.
Manny’s last fight in November against Juan Manuel Marquez drew 1.41 million PPV buys, while Floyd’s fight last September against Victor Ortiz drew 1.25 PPV buys.
Floyd’s fight with Marquez in 2009 drew 1 million PPV buys.
Pacquiao’s fight with Antonio Margarito in 2010 drew 1.5 million PPV buys, while Mayweather’s fight Shane Mosley drew 1.4 million PPV buys. Despite Mosley being perceived as a shot fighter, Pacquiao drew 1.3 million PPV buys in their May 2011 fight.
In total Pacquiao’s last three fights have drawn 3.86 million PPV buys, while Mayweather’s last three fights have pulled in 3.65 million PPV buys. In summation Pacquiao drew in 210,000 more PPV buys than Mayweather did. When you take into account the higher number of PPV buys that Pacquiao’s fights have drawn it translates into a cool $10,000,000 in cash.
It is true that the Floyd Mayweather – Oscar De La Hoya fight in May 2007 drew a record 2.4 million PPV hits. Many boxing observers largely attribute the high PPV numbers in that fight to the extreme popularity of the Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya and the fact that it was held on the Cinco De Mayo holiday.
But Pacquiao’s recent higher PPV numbers only tell part of the story. In the same three fights Pacquiao sold out the venues, while Mayweather’s last three fights were not sold out. In addition, when Manny Pacquiao fights at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas a significantly higher number of high rollers from Asia fly into Vegas for his fights. The economic impact in Las Vegas for a Pacquiao fight far outstrips that of any other fighter.
In a study by CSE, an integrated sports and marketing firm, Pacquiao is one of only two boxers in the 2012 Power Rankings of the most powerful athletes in the world. Manny is ranked at number 28. Mayweather is ranked 49th in the same study. Both on and off field accomplishments are taken into account in the rankings. Endorsements and media presenc

It's weird, Pac should just take the 40 mil and whoop Mayweather's ass, if he is comfortable. The benefits are all too high for him. Pac really loses nothing. Pac has already loss before... Pac has never made 40 mil before, 40 mil is a price that most fighters would dream of. Pac loses the fight, things will continue business as usual, if Pac beats Mayweather he reaches the stratosphere of his popularity... im saying it will become like Durans victory over SRL. He'd become a God in the sport off of that win. But for mayweather there is only downsides. If he loses people will say he is a hypejob, he loses his marketability since it all weighs upon him being undefeated... sure he can fight on, but he will never do as well as he is now. If he wins, his win will just be downgraded... he waited for pac to slow down, Pac is naturally smaller, if Marquez can do it of course Mayweather was going to outbox him... etc etc etc.

Mayweather, without a doubt, makes far more money than the two of them and based on the fact that if Mayweather beats pac it wont be looked at nearly as good if Pac beats Mayweather. Mayweather at the moment is in the top sit... he really is the cash cow... he replaced delahoya in this respect. Pac would accept this if it was someone like delahoya, but not Mayweather? Didn't Pac already agree to this anyways? It's really dumb. If I were Mayweather though, I would do the 50/50... but again I can understand why Mayweather wants to do it the way he does... I think of Hoya and all the other stuff I mentioned and it makes perfect sense. Honestly Mayweather has MUCH more to lose in this fight in the event somehow Pac gets the victory.

Floyd didn't sell out the MGM and he still grossed more than Manny did. Now to sum all this **** up all you have to do is look at the numbers that count. That is the average gross and average PPV buys and Floyd tops him big time by a lot. Oh and then there is this.

According to an official document issued by the House of Representatives in the Philippines, current WBO welterweight champ, Manny Pacquiao has a net worth of approximately 1.134 billion PHP (Philippine Pesos), which comes out to just over 26 million in American Dollars.

Net worth is calculated by taking a person's total assets, then subtracting their liabilities. The figure quoted above takes into consideration all Pacquiao assets, including real estate and pay from TV and radio performances, public appearances, album sales, licensing, local and international endorsements as well as the money earned from his fights.

Generating approximately $384 million in revenue from his PPV events prior to last May's Shane Mosley bout, alone, the shockingly low net worth tells the tale of a fighter either quickly going through his money or in desperate need of an independent accounting firm to deal with some pressing business issues.

Enter, VisionQwest Resource Group, Inc., an agency specializing in contract issues and tax concerns.

As reported in a press release yesterday, Manny Pacquiao has retained the services of VisionQwest to handle all business dealing as well as review "all contracts from 2005 and going forward."

Team Pacquiao is currently being reviewed and the management team streamlined in order to create a more effective business unit. In the press release, the Los Angeles-based firm also announced that they had "retained the services of a strong boxing business professional who has a solid background in fighter management and negotiations" who will be involved in all future contract reviews.

Tales of fighters and money woes are, sadly, as much a part of boxing's history as devastating knockouts and shocking upsets, but these things are never nice to hear.

Pacquiao is still a very wealthy man and will likely remain one for the rest of his life, but it's worth noting that some people, somewhere are enjoying the money that, rightfully, belongs to him.

Manny is only worth 26 million dollars which shows that he is either stupid by blowing all his money away or he is getting robbed and not getting paid what you think he is. He doesn't even have copies of his own bout contracts. Dude is not getting 25 million a fight and **** like that.
