He got up from a shot that looked like it killed him and tried to carry on until he was beat into the canvas two more times, don't judge,..that took *****.

Some promoter claimed something which D'Amato immediately denied.

    Why claim this is factual.

And by the way, Folley was not the #1 contender either, so why should he have gotten a shot.

When Machen beat Valdes in 56 Valdes was number 3 in the world

He was fresh off a dominating knockout over number 4 rated don cokkell who got to fight for the world title

just months later he knocked out the undefeated joe Erskine In 1 round

    Watch the films

Valdes reflexes speed look better in 56 in eddie Machen fight than in 59 vs London

You mean from a left jab?

Williams backed liston up for two rounds, broke his nose staggered him

Valdes closed listons right eye with his jab by round 3

What did Harris do? He took his 70,000 and curled up in a fetal position

A Liston leaping jabhook I doubt many could take,

And I lost all respect for you with this post..mocking a dude for getting beat down by Liston and still trying.

    Not according to ring..

And no, he was fresh off a bad loss to Baker. Literally, just off the Baker loss

And overall, lost 3 of his last 4. Two were upsets.

You bigged up the 58 rebound, man.

Hurricane Jackson beat bob baker, clarence henry, Ezzard charles 2x, rex Layne and fought for the world title

    What did pastrano do?

Valdes reached the number 1 contender status for 2 straight years, he beat 8 different men who were rated in the top 10 in the world at the time of the Valdes fight, he beat a world heavyweight champion Ezzard charles, and he beat 4 men who received world heavyweight title shots cokkell jackson London and charles

You really trying to argue pastrano had a better career at heavy than Valdes?

As for Folley this ones even easier

Folley was rated in the top 10 by ring magazine ELEVEN years in a row. One of the longest tenures in history. Folley beat Valdes, chuvalo, bonavena, jones, cleroux 2x, Machen, Foster Cooper miteff

How do you think pastrano would have done against Bob Foster? He would have gotten bombed out

Yes, I also this Harris bashing is going way over the top. Harris got up several times and lasted longer than Patterson did twice, or that the tough Bethea did, against Liston.

The fight was stopped by the referee.

Much better, he won about 19 out of the 20 rounds to cleroux

    2-0 vs cleroux

Also beat eddie Machen Bob Foster chuvalo bonavena jones Valdes

    Blows away cleroux a resume

Folley was rated top 10 by ring magazine for 11 straight years

Why? His title reign was bad....really bad! he had a bunch of hand picked soft opposition , everyone knows it!l open up any boxing history book and they will tell you.

Any boxing expert out there will tell you eddie Machen and Zora Folley were better heavyweights than Roy Harris and Willie pastrano

Yeah, The Italian also beat Layne in 55 And a guy who also knocked out washed up Charles. And I see Jackson gets cred for injured hand Baker that Harris also beat.
