Thats true, and im guilty of this one. I like Froch alot, but have found him frustrating when winning, and even though I like Kessler, I favoured Froch and thats where my money went. I just felt Froch seemed to let the fight go, when I felt it was his for the winning
yeh but if you see his last few performances, he's had a all out war with pascal, he was about to lose his title against taylor if he hadnt knocked him out 14 seconds from the bell, and against dirrell, didnt show much skill and kessler in my opinion dominated most the fight. ive based my opinion on his fights since his 1st world title fight.
What can Freddie Roach, Roger Mayweather, Nazim Richardson, teach Carl Froch???? Robert Mccracken is a decent trainer but Froch dont listen to him, Mccracken keeps telling Froch to box, but Froch just likes to go for KO's
Nonsense, Robert McCracken is a fine trainer and offered perfectly logical advice in the corner. He wanted more out of Froch but Froch didn't do it until it was too late. He can't throw right hands for him. Robert McCracken has made Froch into a world class fighter, infact he's overachieved quite dramatically considering his talent level.
To be honest apart heart and desire froch does not have to much skill so i do feel he could benerfit from a new trainer but 1 thing is for sure he needs to get rid of fat mick.
Exactly. You can pick holes in his defence/technique all you want. He doesn't want to change as he's winning his fair share and is fairly entertaining to watch also. He doesn't have the footspeed or footwork to improve his defence greatly anyway. I think McCracken's advice is excellent. Even listen to him in the Taylor fight, he knows what needs to be done.
You can't give him better handspeed. The rest of the stuff he has, it's just that man only has so much physical ability to pull it off. And like I said, he needs to shorten up those punches.
Nah, I think it's too late to change Froch. Beside, his awkward style is part of the reason why he's not easy to beat. He only needs to fine tune a little bit. I think the first thing to do would be to try to get into the fight with a game plan and execute it. Froch always fights on instinct. He's been able to get away with it for a long time but now I think it's time to make some adjustments.
Froch has gotten where he is with his current style and that is pretty damn good. Why change a winning formula because of one loss?
