should fury be in the SportsPersonality Awards?

    course, fury has a large personality to with his frame, but its hardly a commendable one


    1stly, just to outline that its not really an award for charisma as it suggests, but overall impact across all fronts.


    on merit alone i'd say no. plenty have beaten ageing champs with poor h2h ability . still a good feat though.

    in fact hands down it ought to go to someone in the womens football team, or froome perhaps buts that not a boxing topic.

    that comment is exactly why he shouldn't even be shortlisted. and yet its hard to write off becoming the first relatively undisputed hw champ born and bred in Britain since olde times.


    I know this isn't a cycling forum but froome has won 2 of the hardest sports events of the year. it dwarfs furys win.

    but yeh I go with someone in the womens footie team first. Houghton didn't get shortlisted sadly, what an awesome captain she was. Ennis, Farah and Murray are of course are top candidates too.

    but no rugger is still too narrow a field to be considered sporting excellence of the highest calibre.

    If you are talking about athletes then Muhammed Farah is far more deserving than any other Brit like Ennis and Rutherford but I reckon most think he's on drugs so he's got no chance.
