It's not really a world title any more, but just a marketing title for the PBC.
    • Fury was a cherry pick gone wrong.
    • Before that it was a string of PBC approved opponents with fake rankings for Wilder to knock over.
    • Whyte (Matchroom) couldn't get a sniff for years.
    • Povetkin (Ryabinski) also got screwed over along the way.
    • Let's not forget they threatened to strip Stiverne because he wanted to fight Klitschko for undisputed before Wilder.
    • Now look who they have fighting for the next mandatory?

    Wilder #1 (PBC) v Helenius #10 (PBC)
    Against the winner of
Ruiz Jr. #5 (PBC) v Ortiz #8 (PBC)

    Notice the winner of
Joyce #2 (Queensbury) v Parker #3 (Boxxer) is not invited to the party.

It must be the most worthless belt at this point. Fury should just bin it, retain his lineal claim and take us back to a three belt era.

To me it’s always been the most important and iconic of the 4 belts.
Coolest looking too with the green strap.

We Be Crooks is certainly worst run and most corrupt governing body out of the 4.

If we were to get rid of one of the four governing bodies, I certainly want it to be the WBC considering how they conduct themselves (generally Haymon's puppet).

Fury should ceremoniously cast the PBC belt out of the ring and into the wilderness, just as Anthony Joshua did after his humbling second defeat to Usyk.

If Joshua can't have the belts, NO ONE can have the belts.

Isn't Joyce v Parker for the WBO interim though?

Yeah, would have looked better IF he'd won the fight. Some others said that his "losers speech" sounded much like a repurposed winners speech. I wonder if that was also planned:facepalm:

    Sure, fair comment, BUT

Mauricio already gave that as an excuse for not including them in his proposed 4 man tournament around a month before the WBO agreed to anything.

Joyce v Parker didn't actually have anything attached to the fight even at the time of the second announcement. Their management teams were on the radio saying they were trying to get something done, talking about possibly get it attached to the WBO.

Mauricio already had his 4 man PBC tournament planned out well before that.

Edit: just to add Martin v Ortiz was an IBF eliminator. Ortiz injury excuse was accepted by the IBF, so Ortiz was assumably still inline for a final IBF eliminator at the time of the WBC semi-final eliminator.

Can you show me where he had this planned way before the WBO was involved? This all sounds very youtuber boxing fandom to me.
You call it the PBC belt yet the last 3 fights you've had atleast 1 non PBC competing for or defending it. 2 in the case of the last fight and probably another 2 in the next fight and one after so that's 5 fights across 3 years.

Sure the WBC are corrupt and help out certain promoters, just like the WBO and Warren. I don't think anybody can dispute that. This is boxing though the whole place is rotten to the core and this sort of thing isn't new at all.

Hopefully Wilder v Helenius winner versus Ruiz will take a few months to arrange & they won't be ready to challenge Fury until mid 2023
by which time hopefully Fury v Usyk will be done

I actually favour Wilder to win that series
it depends on how much he has left
I believe Helenius is a bigger threat than Ruiz

No then we can still get the undisputed daddy Usyk v Fury fight.would be criminal to allow the PBC to get hold of that belt before the two stand out fighters get to battle for supremacy.

The WBA is clearly the worse of a very bad bunch. Saying that, it’s not easy to win a belt these days, there’s a lot of good champions ( ignoring womens boxing of course ).
