Fury's engine is one of the best of all time. Stick Fury in the 70's with 210 pound men he'd want 15 rounds. It benefits him, gives him more time to exert his size advantage over smaller men. These 210 pound men might have fought like horses for 15 rounds in the 70's but not against men twice their size who can match their pace and bear their weight on them. Fury would break Fraziers spine after 1 clinch.
Depends who he fights next. If it's Whyte, who has crap foot work, I think he can show up in the 270lbs again and be fine as he'll be dealing with a very stationary fighter who won't cut the distance very quickly and so the extra weight won't hurt him too much. If it's Usyk who's far faster and more agile than Whyte, it's probably better if he comes in lighter, definitely below 270lbs.
Weird that even after all this time people are still obsessed with Furys body and can't comprehend how the big gypo wallops people that are 'body beautiful'. LOL
The super fat is the most important, valuable and indispensable weapon in his armoury. It's his essence, the glue that binds everything together so to speak. Shedding the super fat would be absolutely disastrous for him. The love handles, however, have got to go though. Not only are they ghastly on the eye but they're a bloody damn waste of super fat as there are other parts of the body that glorious super fat could be stored which would enable him to receive every ounce of all its magical and beneficial properties and it would unquestionably make him significantly better than he already is, by at least 20-30%.
Disagree, his love handles are his best feature. It's a free body protector. invulnerable to kidney shots.
No gypsy man in the history of human combat has ever been dropped or stopped by a body shot or a shot to the kidneys. Love handles can aid balance but it has been scientifically proven that they're a waste of super fat and the gains in aiding balance are negligible.
I agree, physical condition is a 'tell' but some people only seem to look at this aspect. But then we have old George Foreman who was fat and a world champion, Prince Naseem Hamed who was no more than well toned but had pound-for-pound ATG power, CEJ who looks like he's chiselled from marble but is a light hitter, David Benavidez who has a dad-bod in his 20s but is incredibly athletic. And of course Fury. My point stands, people obsess about how a boxer looks rather than factor it in to the overall picture...
The ripple effect of love handles reverberating after a punch has landed has been known to break hands. A wobbly girth is a weapon...
Well, something like his Wilder 2 build would be best from here on out. He likely doesn't have his speed anymore so it would be pointless boiling down to the 250s since it would probably weaken him without appreciative gain. But the last Wilder fight was Fury totally out of shape for no other reason than that he hadn't trained hard enough.
Speaking as someone who is in good shape, but when I put on weight it goes to the love handles - it's bloody hard to lose. Fury just has trhem big crash and bash hips.
