Well it is the Hall of FAME Gatti was very famous for his fights with Ward, often drawing attention to the sport of boxing in a positive light. For this reason he should be seriously considered for it. Now ATG status, he does not have the skill for that, and incidently if you disagree with me, come on down to the ol VA, and I'll make you Famous

HOW DO YOU NOT PUT HIM IN THE HALL OF FAME!!!! More HBO apparences then any other boxer. Has a great trilogy and never ducked a fighter.. He was an exciting fighter maybe not the best. But find me 1 boxer with more heart then him and i will retract my statement. He was a great champion and exciting to watch

:blood WTF you talking about? Robinson beat Gatti's ass twice, and Manfredy ripped his face open. Gatti also wasn't in his prime when he got his ass beat by Mayweather. He also lost to Ward, around the time that you would call his prime. Sorry man, I just don't get this post. :huh

Excitement doesnt equal ****. Ive seen good scraps on Ballroom boxing, and Friday night fights through the years, but anytime Gatti stepped up, he got beat.(and dont say Ruelas, cuz he was mentally shot when he fought Gatti). Good career, not a hall of fame career, and you can knock McGuigan, but he did beat Eusebio Pedroza, who on Gattis resume is like that?

In addition to beating Pedroza, McGuigan also beat Juan Laporte (who arguably had beaten Pedroza and later arguably beat or drew a 24 year old Julio Cesar Chavez) and Bernard Taylor.

McGuigan is indeed more deserving than Gatti.

No, he should not be in. I like him and respect the hell out of him but everytime he stepped up against elite comp he lost. Having some amazing fights with a B level fighter like Ward shouldnt get you in the hall of fame.

I think so. Although Gatti has did not have true hall of fame ability, he did a lot for boxing. Gatti was in many great fights. He won some, he lost some, but he will never be forgotten. The hall of fame is more than just skills. There are worse guys than Gatti skill wise in the hall of fame.
