Should GGG just move up now?

Lol that's what I'm saying, he should clean up most the guys at super middle and have a big unification in the UK with degale

If his sole priority was legacy-building I would say yes.

But since I'm sure money and risk/reward factor into his motivation, then I would say no - absolutely not.

But what money fight can he have in the middleweight division when noons wants a piece? So only big fight is degale who will look at that as a chance to put himself in the history books

A million or 2 per fight is more than what most fighters make now. Not counting his endorsements. I'm sure his finances are fine.

I'm just answering the original question of what I think he will do. Hes close enough to the record that he might as well stay on track to break it. That's automatic HOF.

The biggest money fights are likely still south of him, or north of him. Bigger money fights moving up from welter to middle seem to have a trend of producing at least 2 such scenarios per generation. I like his chances much more 2 years down the road against smaller guys coming up, than I like his chances at 168 or 175 in the long haul.

;) I think GGG should finish gathering ALL THE BELTS, no need to move up at the moment.

:hey IMO... GGG would be successful at 168lbs., his power and ring savvy should see GGG once again holding all the belts.

175 lb. is pushing him, he's not that big.

:D There's money to be made at 160lbs, and forces Canelo to "KEEP DRAINING".

Not counting Canelo, who at 168 is appreciably more marketable that anyone GGG could fight against at 160? If there's a legitimate chance Ward moving back down or Froch unretiring then, sure, an argument can be made. Otherwise, I don't see a good enough lure to get him to move up. He seemingly still comfortably makes weight also.

Chaves Jr and degale in a unification fight in the UK, people would pay for the latter coz its competitive

Like I said he should accomplish his goal and then move on up mate. :smooch
He is making solid cash but he could make more as he moves up and hustle other divisions :yep:good

He needs to start the climb to 175 now. Time is not on his side. We all know Ward and Kovalev would fight him much sooner than Canelo will at this point.

No, Golovkin needs to stay at 160, break records..........his next fight will be against either Saunders or Jacobs, he also wants Alvarez and Quillin, etc. Charlo changed his mind about moving up to 160 to fight Golovkin, he wants no part of Golovkin, he would get knocked out!!!

Nah. There's still unfinished business at Middleweight, he just now has 3 belts to leverage into bigger fights, and it's foolish to kill any chance of a Canelo fight. Stick around and keep the heat on the ginger. GGG should move up at the end of 2017 or 2018 depending on what fights get landed.

His middleweight reign of terror still has some legs.

He should fight Saunders and go up then. He'll have all his belts then. He's lucky Saunders beat Lee, Andy would have knocked GGG clean out.

Funny thing is that I expect most of his detractors that now say he should move up in weight (either 8 ofr 15lbs) would be among the first that will ridicule him for notbeing able to unify the division and/or break Hopkins' record

Saunders ain't taking that fight unless it's crazy money tbh In my GGG is the unified champ already, anyone else is just a belt holder and the history books will reflect that, he's gunna waste the best years of his career if Saunders doesn't fight him before the end of the year
