As long as you allow other fighters this as well. But we all know you don't. GGG can stay at 160 forever but other guys must move up to prove themselves.
Exactly this. And yet, he has tried to make fights above 160 with Chavez, Froch and Ward and they all fell through.
:huh Guys fight at the weight they fight at. If they can't make their weight class anymore then they move up. And no, 155 is not a weight class.
The problem is these same guys screaming GGG can stay at 160 will call for a guys like PBF and others to move up and dare to be great but are perfectly fine with GGG staying at 160 a dead division for his whole career. The double standard is pathetic.
1st he should move down to 155 , beat canelo then return to bumland for those bumland belts dont worry bumland will still be there
Point regarding GGG to move up? No he's bot struggling at the weight, unifying the division and destroying Hopkins record of defences is better than moving up and beating Jack or Degale.
Beating Hopkins record is not a big deal when you look at his resume and who he beat if he does it.:deal No one of note is at 160, wins over Saunders, Eubank Jr. and others isn't a great accomplishment, and it will be destroyed by critics for years to come. Him fighting and beating DeGale and Jack at 168 would be better than anything than he could do at 160.
No. He could move up if there was a great, legacy-stamping fight at 168 for him. But what's there? 168's deeper than 160, but I don't think it's better at the top. Degale is the only fighter who might be worth it. If Degale cleans out 168, the best at 160 moving up to fight him makes sense. Jacobs and Saunders and of course Canelo are greater challenges than anything at 168 at the moment. So keep on going for the best at 160.
Hopkins run at 160 was poor, 2 stand out names who started out at 147 and 130 respectively and one was coming off a complete robbery of Sturm. This has been done in another thread as you well know. Don't act as though Hopkins beat exceptional comp at 160. In fact the first athletic boxer he fought who was equal to him in size he lost to in Taylor.
I think alot of people here don't want him to break the record,I really think they know he's going to.
