Should GGG offer 50/50 to Jacobs to get the fight made?

If it does 1.5 - 2M, yes absolutely. Some people I have talked to think it will do only 800k PPV buys, in which case 10 million is still low but acceptable.

I hope you're right!! As you know I'm a GGG fan, but that's a reasonable deal for both sides.

If Ggg wants to be successful he will need to imitate his successful counterparts.

Cotto took a very small fraction against Pac and Floyd.

Canelo took a small fraction against Miguel Cotto and Floyd.

If Ggg wants the financial success Cotto and Canelo have he will need to learn from them and pay his dues.

Rhetorical question. Of course Jacobs doesnt deserve no 50/50

What a dumb analogy. You are comparing Cotto and Canelo taking smaller cuts against highly popular fighters, to 3G and an even LESSER known fighter in Jacobs? Nice try simple jack...

    Yea, I was surprised too
    Heard it from Bob Arum
when HBO said no to Pac vs Vargas PPV , Bob said, "no problem, we'll get a production company to do that, but then again we'll save the 7.5% that HBO we're getting "

    you can look it up

I recall that actually. I just don't know the whole story behind it with that fight. There's other articles which state how much HBO typically gets too.

    PPV is split as follows
45 percent to the NETWORK providers such as time/warner, direct tv.
    7.5 percent to HBO/Showtime
There goes over half the money
Then the promoter gets his piece. At least 30 percent.
The remaining amount 20 percent gets divied up by the fighters

Ggg has problems getting people to pay top dollar to watch him. The reason is because people know he's fighting bums.

If he wants that to change he will have to sacrifice some income and pay a credible opponent big money to legitamize himself to the public.

Canelo took 1/4 of what Cotto got and it paid off.

None of that matters in what you said ASOL. Fact of the matter is, between 3G and Jacobs, 3G is in the drivers seat. I would say 3G's selling out his last three fight venues, in record time, suggest otherwise.

Accept it, your example was sh*t.

You're not very bright and I can tell you're a short term thinker.

If GGG wants to make top money he needs to sacrifice pay to lure a fighter that will give him credibility. Otherwise he can continue doing the same and continue chasing Canelo around for a payday.

We're talking about 3G versus Danny Jacobs. You are smart enough to realize, it's Jacobs in this case whose lesser known, has an even weaker resume, and IS NOT the champ? We aren't talking about 3G and a proven seller you simple f*ck.

I think that 60/40 is fair. Anything less than that is an insult to Jacobs and he shouldn't take it.

when it happens once...or twice...you tend to give a pass...but golovkin has yet to get a single noteworthy 154-168lb guy in the ring yet....its always the other guys fault....always a "coincidence" in the eyes of the bumdogs fans

you say that you dont care or arent affected....yet you dont want golovkin to "bend over" for anyone even though hes yet to make a single good fight with a legit guy in the 154-168 divisions....
