Clearly it's because GGG is the new HBO superstar. The ref knew what he could and couldn't do, if you get my drift.

taken a point away at least, but DQ would be pushing it too far

It wasn't like the Jones one, It was 10x harder Jones barely touched Griffin. Golovkin actually cracked Lemieux pretty hard to be fair. It surprised how little he made of it, Took it like a man.

Nah I take that back I just watched the Jones one again his was actually worse than I remember plus he threw 2 punches

In this case, no. Lemieux didn't do a Montell Griffin like he did with Roy Jones Jr. If Lemieux used his acting skills he could of put Ggg in a similar situation.

:lol:Even Roy called Griffin a fraud when Lampley brought up that situation. Didn't say anything about Dirrell because the whole boxing world knows he was full of sh!t.:yep

You cant stop your punches in this situation. He could not stop his punch it was unintentional.
What DQ in the blue hell you want?
Brewster should be DQ to hit Klitschko after the bell .....
Roy Jones punches was a big time after Montell take a knee.

there should be a "point off and 5 minutes option"

the ref counting kind of ****ed me off. so if it would have been a harder punch would he have called it a knockout?

The punch was in motion, it was not intentional. Salido kept hitting Lomachenko low, behind the head and clearly long after the bell and nothing happened. In order to DQ a fighter for a blow while his opponent is down has to be intentional, the punch was already in motion.........................

maybe not even a point off maybe just a warning. up to 5 minutes for lemieux who likely wouldnt have took more than a few seconds

Exactly - that is the spirit in which the rules govern this situation. Anyone calling for a DQ is straight bias - :deal playing the man not the game.

1 point and 5 minutes recovery would have been very fair

It was actually worse than what Lewis did to poor Michael Grant.
