Not sure what the rules were for the fight weather or not you can be saved by the bell, if he could have been saved by the bell I think Cortez would not have started to count. However I also think that it was Cortez's responsibility to complete the count, what happend, Cortez got to 9 and asked the fighter if he was okay, WTF is that about? why not have him walk to you and look to see if he is okay rather than to assume that he made it to his feet and its all good. I really feel that last night Grant should have been awarded the knock out simply because even though the other man made it up he was still out. Thoughts?
Had it happened in the seventh round, then I could see your argument... But it was the last round.. The fight was over... He made it to his feet and he seemed ok enough to fight even though he was sit a bit out of it... So no knockout... What's the point of waving it off, when he's on his feet and the fight is finished...
No actually he didnt seem OK to fight. I don't think he would have handled a walk towards me request very well. But maybe when the fight is over you can't ask them to make that request if they get up, which he did.
