Should Hatton have "ducked"(not called him out) Mayweather. Especially at 147 and kept his record intact.

Just as many boxers do/have done and can be accused of doing. We all know the names.

Or was it more Honourable to take on the challenge and risk a beating?

Which deserves more credit? The fighter with an unbeaten record (but ducked/never fought the big boys) or someone who challenges the best, but now has a convincing loss to the p4p no1 on his record?

He did the right thing. He genuinely thought he could win, you could see it in his eyes, so it's a daft question really

If you blatantly avoid a fighter, it's as bad as losing to him in my eyes. Hopkins has already lost against Calzaghe

    Hatton didnt exactly challenge Mayweather.

he ran his mouth during interviews but it was Floyd who called him out and told him to take the fight.

i see it that Hatton didnt have much of a choice but to take the fight at that point because of his smack talk.

one other thing. who is Mayweather ducking?

I think if he could have somehow foreseen that turnbuckle he may not have taken the fight..

He did the right thing. I believe people in the future will respect him more for fighting Floyd. If he hadn't then at the end of his career, no matter how good it was, people would have added the footnote "but he never fought Floyd Mayweather" Theres no shame in losing to the best, but there is shame, I feel, in ducking the best.

I think you have to give him credit for testing his skills against whats considered the pound for pound best in the sport. I think its a tough road ahead of him, to get back to the top, but he made a lot of money, and fought courageously. I would like to see him fight Cotto or Cintron next. They are both high profile fights, and I think stylistically they will match up well for him. Cotto is the bigger money fight, but the bigger risk in my opinion.

Hatton - "I bet you seen more action these four rounds then in all of Floyd Mayweather's career"

    Mayweather - "Make the fight!!!"

Hatton and Billy Graham - "We can't lose. We've never been so sure of a victory in our life"

    Mayweather - ....

Props to Mayweather and Hatton!! It was a risk for both guys. No, he did the right thing. Hatton is very UNDERrated, he is a very good fighter.
