Either Hatton should retire from the sport, or if he wants to leave on a good note, have one last meaningful fight, and although some of you might think Hatton will smash him up, this fight might be better for Hatton as he exits. He should fight Junior Witter, nice British show down. I think Witter deserves a chance.
Yeah I guess he has made the money and should just enjoy himself and keep safe for his children, however, if he did have a comeback fight, don't you think Witter is an okay option.
He should retire. He's rich, still has his faculites and any fight he takes after this will be an anti-climax. He's been a decent champ at 140 but its been proven twice now that he's not good enough for the real top fighters of his time. No disgrace in that but its time to retire.
I'd like to see him retire, but he won't. He won't because after the Floyd fight he said he'd be damned if he was going to end his career on his back. Maybe his opinion has changed since the Floyd KO wasn't nearly as brutal. But Hatton seems like the kind of guy that would want to thank his fans who supported him so much by having a sell-out at Wembley. 100,000 fans and against a hand picked opponent.
and charging them 15 quid to watch on tele or 30 quid to be there... This is fighting, no joke, there is no justification for hand picked miss matches.
He should do what ever he feels like. I certainly don't think he has anything left to prove, but whatever.
Why? Sure he got KTFO, but I mean it's boxing. It happens, like tupac said "If you fall, stand tall and come back for more."
Witter would put Hatton to sleep to imo. Witter can actually punch pretty hard and he is most effective when he is being attacked where he can counter puncher. Hatton needs to finish alltogether before he gets himself seriously hurt.
First off, I think we can comfortably say that Hatton cant mix it at the Elite level. A dubious 1 from 3 in the "big fights", and that was against a semi retired, old warrior, that still took 11 rounds and a low blow to complete. As for hanging them up, I think he would want to fight once more in Manchester at the end of the summer before bowing out. A big money fight with Amir Khan (If he wins the title at 140lbs), or a top american (holt or bradley). But saying that I dont think he'd fancy either of the americans. But the end of the road is definetly in sight...
Hatton could fight Steven Hawking and still fill Wembley. I'm not saying it's right, it's just what he could do if he wanted.
But at 31 years old, why bother? What can he accomplish that he hasn't already? Its one thing Tupac rapping about it but its not always applicable in boxing, otherwise Mike Tyson would still be fighting.
hatton should havee a big last fight but a meaningful fight he should fight one of the following khan ( altough i dont like him very much if he wins a title at 140 the fight could be big and made a last fight in his career ) best option Juan manuel marquez - thats a good option depending on how the mayweather - marquez fight go cotto or mosley ( if khan loses then i think he should fight either of the two) but i would like to see hatton have one more scrap at boxing he should have at least a competitive last fight even if he loses again go fatton!
