You know why he didn't want to give Witter a chance. Well, either that or you are completely uninformed, which we have to allow as a possibility at this stage.

Not sure what that's got to do with Cotto.

Like what? I can't think of another potentially winnable fight where he'd make as much, even if he only took a 40% split.

Neither of them ever went after the other one, and frankly Cotto wasn't a big name until he got to 147.

he didnt want 2 give him a chance cus he "didnt like him" i used 2 like hatton and wanted this fight 2 take place but instead of doing what hes trained 2 do he made something up along these lines "why should i give this clown a chance for a big payday" and what witter has 2 do with this is he held the most prestigous belt in the division (WBC if u didnt know)

if hattons so great y did he settle for the ibf and the ibo belts and instead of going for cotto go for witter and cement your status with the best belt in the division its all a little sad.

Pacquiao... the current consensus pound-for-pound #1, widely recognized as the most exciting fighter in the world, a 5 division champ, has more superstar scalps in his resume, and as a matter of principle rightfully and justly deserves more than 50% of the purse than Malignaggi's conqueror.

    :deal

I'd say Manny should look elsewhere if they don't give him what he deserves.

If you think that winning the WBC title from someone who picked up the vacant belt by beating DeMarcus Corley is more 'prestigious' than beating a top three P4P fighter who is the linear champion in the weight division, then there's not really much hope for you...

how many times do i have 2 say hatton and his promoter didnt fancy cotto simple as GREAT RING CHAMP and u or someone said that cotto didnt win a world title at light welter, im trying 2 say there was fights out there that if he took would have made me respect him a hell of a lot more than taking on a smaller past it legend u know the one, being ring champ is inconclusive when he didnt hold the biggest world title

i really don't know why i'm wasting my breath, being the ring champ is the least inconclusive of the belts they give it to the man of the division, koysta was the undisputed champ at 140. he didn't lose any of those belts in the ring, and then hatton beat him.

it inconclusive because theres usually four champs in a division its lets be honest ignoring the other 3s achievements if hatton doesnt bother facing any of the other champs isnt fair or good for boxing

they are belt holders hattons the champ, anyway hatton fought koysta who was champ, maussa who had the wba title, luis collazo who had wba at 147, urango who had ibf belt and malignaggi for what should have been his ibf belt. now look at cotto's resume he's never fought a current belt holder ever, he's only fought for vacant titles.

He did face other champs though. Tszyu, Maussa, Collazo, Urango and Mayweather were all reigning champions when Hatton fought them. Malignaggi should have been.

Cotto, on the other hand, has never fought a reigning champion.

Yet you choose to have a go at Hatton... :think
