Should Haye fight another bum or take a risk before Klit?

Povetkin ain't average. Far from it, his work-rate is outstanding for this division. He has solid skills too. His only real problem is he's easy to hit with a right hand.

I think he gives Haye all kinds of trouble. Similar to how Fragomeni did. Get in close and limit his leverage, make him work, test his questionable stamina.

The big problem for Haye is that apart from the Klits and Valuev nobody in the heavyweight division offers a real test. Guys like Barrett, Toney, Arreola, Peter, Maskaev, Igbraminov and Thompson are all ok but he would beat them and learn nothing. Sure a couple more contender names on his resume would look nice but non of those fighters can ready him for the styles and experience of the main 3 guys. Haye for me should fight one but only to shown he has earnt his title fight in the ring instead of with hype and his mouth.

i think he should go for a solid contender before fighting a Klit. A big fella, like a Jameel McCline or summin...

Each to their own - I don't reckon much to him.

But you do point out his workrate is very good, and I cannot disagree.

spot on. in an ideal world i'd like him to face and KO a few top contenders to get everyone talking about him and then a showdown with a Klitschko will be massive, but Haye could get exposed in the mean time and so could Wlad, and Vitali is old, so one more fight and Haye faces a Klitschko and i cant wait

I don't see why Haye would just outbox and then stop him.

All Haye seems to be doing is waiting and then loading up at the moment. There isn't a great deal of method or work-rate that is going to outbox a high volume techincal pressure fighter.

The guys with similar styles to Povetkin all caused him trouble. Povetkin is bigger and stronger, younger and more skilled than Fragomeni and Mormeck. Haye would be in a world of trouble.

It wouldn't prepare him for the Klitschko's though. He'd probably have to fight Tony Thompson or somebody for that.

It's a bit close. It's less than two months from now. Depends how out of shape he has gotten in the past few weeks.

I think he should take it. If he doesn't believe he can be 100% in time, he should still do it and fight an average opponent. He could still have one more fight by April.

Wlad and Vitali are tied up anyway. Wlad is fighting Rahman then has to fight Povet. Vitali still has to set a date with Gomez.

Haye should fight someone who is at least 6'4. People want/need to believe he can beat someone who is big so that they will buy into him beating one of the Klits.

Is this some kind of joke? Chambers has extremely fast hands and a very good combination puncher. He has lots of talent, you have to be blind not to see that.

I saw Chambers against Povetkin and felt he was **** poor.

I agree. If Povetkin has the chin to take Haye's right hands, he will eventually wear him out and knock him out. Like you said, I think Mormek and Povetkin are similar fighters, but Povetkin hits harder and has much better stamina. He seems to have a good chin, but you need a great chin to stand up to Haye's punches. I think it is a 60/40 fight in favour of Povetkin.

Pretty much. I would never deny Haye has a big chance even though I like Pov, because he does have a propensity to take a high volume of right hands. He did against Chambers, I have to think if they are Haye's he's in trouble.

Povetkin poses most of the stylistic trouble though. Haye isn't that great under pressure, he throws way more punches than Haye, and even though he's not a big puncher whos to say he can't hit harder than Mormeck? The way I see it is if it goes the distance Povetkin clearly wins, if it goes past round 6 its 80/20 in favour of Pov.

Häh? Haye beat Barrett and now all of a sudden fighters like Chagaev, Povetkin (both guys wouldn't fight Haye), Thompson, Ibragimov or Chambers don't even deserve to share the ring with Haye? :yikes

    Haye is a inexperienced heavyweight

    he is

    2 fights 2 wins 2 ko's at heavyweight

    W KO 1 Bonin

    W KO 5 Barret

we need to see more of him before he fights the division best

Haye has only ever had 2 world title fights

    W KO 7 Mormeck

    W TKO 2 Maccarnelli

Hayes has lots to prove at heavyweight

I honeslty dont think he is good enough to beat either Klitshko
