I'm starting to think - to make a mega fight out of this whole David Haye "experience" ... I think that Haye should first go after the WBA strap from the winner of Ruslan Chagaev v Nicolay Valuev ...

I think that if Haye comes into a fight with Wlad baring a HW title then that could possibly be the first mega HW fight since Lewis v Holyfield or Lewis v Klitschko ... I think it could be PPV and finally shed some light on the HW division ...

What do you guys think? ... go after the WBA strap? or go after Wlad right away?

    Good point,

It would make the money sound right for both men

Well...the first thing you have to take into account is that the chances of the belt changing hands. Keep in mind that Chagaev just nicked Valuev the first time 115-113. It was the fact that this giant of a man had lost that realy clouded the fact that the fight was pretty close.

Ruslan clearly won it but I can see Valuev making the right adjustments and beating him this time. The difference will have to come in the geometry of the fight and how Valuev cuts the ring off (if he is capable of doing so against the tricky southpaw).

Both guys would be good opponents for Haye albeit for different reasons. Question is...is it worth the risk when you can build up a raning by fighting lesser opponents?

haye should fight a couple of good fighters first at HW before fighting for any belt.

But its a good point, if valuev wins i wanna see him against valuev. that would be ****ing sweet valuev vs. haye. Anyone would want to watch that

100% of the boxing world, valuev is an attraction alone. Anyone that tall and giant looking would sell big fights against a popular fighter

Haye needs experience at heavyweight before taking on any current champions.

WBC title would be nicer. However that is a bit of a mess ATM, with about 5 people promised mandatory status to that title.

I also think Haye should face the winner of Chagaev-Valuev... although he would have serious problems with Valuev, because the man has iron chin and Haye has a glass one... but if he beats Valuev he proves he is a legitimate heavyweight champ.

Wlad won't fight on PPV, he wants as many fans to see the fight as possible. I read that somewhere.

On topic I do think Haye should attempt to get a belt because it would give him more of a percentage of the proceeds & it would be for UNIFICATION.

I think Maskaev is going to retire so there goes that theory.

Plenty of people in Europe have heard of Valuev, he's very well known in Germany. In the USA, not so much.

Haye should gt a few heavyweight wins to really get thye bandwagon rolling before jumping in for any title shot, no need to rush things then come unstuck, time is on his side.
