Five years into his career, Alvarez has cleaned house on several fellow prospects and fringe contenders (Mosley, Pinzon, Goncalo, Gonzalez, Rosales, Tyner) and scored three consecutive knockouts over guys who don't get knocked out (Cotto, Cuello and Baldomir). A fourth consecutive iron man took him the distance (N'Dou) but was far craftier and more negative than the three who preceded him...and Alvarez dominated him over twelve rounds, putting in a complete performance almost as impressive as stopping him would have been and from which he gained valuable experience.

Five years into Berto's career, he faced Luis Collazo in the first non-mismatch of his career and got a gift decision.

Its a pretty close fight IMO. in fact i cant call it right now which makes a great fight.

But lets be real. They are both potential super stars so wont be taking these chances just yet...................unless there is a massive pay day.

    Again, I'm pro "Canelo".

I agree with YOU, IMO Alvarez would get smashed with disrespect & hatred if Golden Boy guided his career in the same fashion Berto's has been.
(Andre Berto is the 27 year old prospect)

Berto is overrated, Collazo gave him a good beating and was robbed.

I guess its the people that listen to everything HBO says.

I had high hopes for him but he hasnt developed because his opposition has been so handpicked since Collazo.

Berto knocks out the overrated Alvarez.

Alvarez was nearly KO-ed by Jose Cotto. Berto will knock him out like Freddy Hernandez.

Both Alvarez and Berto will be gatekeepers in a few years and will be defeated by world-class professionals like Jan Zavek and Selcuk Aydin, who I predict will dominate the division in the coming years.
