It'd be a good fight, both started their careers as pros around the same time. I know Berto is older, but doesn't matter.

    Right now I pick Berto.

The quicker Berto retires the better off the sport will be.

The ****ing clownshoe ****** has no power and barks when he punches....That alone makes me want to see him hit by an 18 wheeler...Nevermind the fact that he's probably the worst titleholder in the sport, ducks any serious challenges by demanding crazy money, got schooled by Collazo, and struggled with Steve Forbes.

What a true credit to the sport.

    Throw him in with Alvarez.

I would take Berto over Alvarez until Alvarez gets some more fights under him. If they fought at the end of 2011 like you say with two welter fights under him, I would wait to see how he looks in those fights to alter my opinion... I could very well take Saul by then, but if they were to fight in two months, I would take Berto to win.

And for those saying 'who has Berto beat', I would also take Collazo to beat Saul, comfortably.

I like Saul, and the sky is the limit, but as of now, I am not sold on him as being on that level quite yet. Hes only 20, no real rush, I think they are taking him along nicely, slowly upping the comp. Ndou was a great step, a nice durable opponent but still a somewhat safe matchup. I would find one more durable opponent like that, and then put him in there with Said or Hatton.

I could really see Alvarez beating Berto. Berto is soo overrated it's not even funny. And Kirk i think Alvarez beat Collazo if they ever fought cause Alvarez ain't a smaller junior ww Hatton. Alvarez style can give Berto a whole lot of trouble.

Berto would beat Alvarez. De La Hoya won't let that happen just yet.

Canelo will be campaigning at 147 next year 4 fights under HBO already signed, 2 fights are definitely going to be against Senchenko and M hatton... the others will probably be tune ups leading up to those main 2.

Can't wait.. I really love the style of this kid. He should work on his defense more like he showed with Ndou and relax on the aggressiveness just a tiny bit like he did with Ndou and he is gonna be a great contender at 147-154.

Saul EL'CANELO Alverez wiil absolutely destroy berto even now, no doubt about it.
Saul is one of the next big things in boxing Berto is not . Berto does not belong with the elite fighters it shows that with how he's been protectad and carefully matched.
