You have to understand that yes as boxing fans, we all say 50/50 (well I dont, but whatever) ... but its about leverage. What people dont realize is that since Floyd is his own promoter (who partners with Golden Boy during fights) he is investing money into promoting the fight, upfront money. I would imagine he would put about $10 million for the Pacquiao fight. (And yes, the fight will say itself, but it still has to be promoted). Whereas Top Rank would be putitng some upfrontmoney as well, but not as much as Floyd. Difference is, Manny doesn't spend any of his income to promote the fight (but thats why he gets a smaller purse and split of the PPV shares of his fights) b/c he isnt a promoter.

So for example, lets say you are an investor who buys propertires, fix them up and resell at them at a higher price then which you paid and you are the best in the business as far as numbers go. You are your own business but you partner with a investment company to negotiate these properties. On the other side of town, there is is another good investor who also buys houses and flips them at a higher price then they paid, but not at the same percentage or amount of profit that you generate. Lets also say this investor has an incvestment company who he works for and who represents him buy putting down the down payment and then later gets reimbursed by him after the property is sold.

Now, there is a a property that both you and this other person are interested in buying and flipping to resell. Lets say this property is being sold for $500,000. You put up 15% of the 20% down payment and the other party puts up the remaining %5. Lets say you both invest some money in the house (wood floors, granite counters, etc...) .... A few months later the house is worth $750,000 and you get an offer from someone to buy the house.

Now you both did a great job in fixing the house up (which would be equal to Floyd and Pac fighting) but you (Floyd) put up 15% down payment while the other person (Pac) with the help of their investment company (Top Rank) put up 5% ..... Who should get the biggest amount of profit once the house gets sold?

Well looking at this with some simple math:

    PPV Buyrates (Last 6 Fights):
    Floyd: 2.4M + 0.92M + 1.05M + 1.4M + 1.25M + 1.5M = 8.52M
    Pac: 0.85M + 1.25M + 0.7M + 1.15M + 1.1M + 1.45M (LOL) = 6.5M

    8.52/15.02 = 0.5672 6.5/15.02 = 0.4328

By PPV buyrate data: Floyd 56.72% - Pac 43.28%

    Common Opponent PPV Buyrates Only:
    Floyd: 2.4M + 0.92M + 1.05M + 1.4M + 1.5M = 7.27M
    Pac: 1.25M + 0.85M + (0.4+0.65+1.45(LOL)/3=) 0.83M + 1.1M + 1.25M = 5.28

    7.27/12.55 = 0.579 5.28/12.55 = 0.421

By common opponent PPV buyrate data: Floyd 57.9% - Pac 42.1%

Too lazy to go find PPV revenue. But the gap would be in even bigger favour for Floyd. Even with Bob Arum's bull**** numbers on the Marquez III fight, the split should be nowhere near 50-50.

why would you include the first two fights with jmm for pac when he was not yet the PPV star that he is now?

    FLOYD:
    oscar - 2.4M
    hatton - 0.925M
    jmm - 1.05M
    mosley - 1.4M
    cotto - 1.5M

    TOT: 7.275M
    AVE: 1.455M

    PACQUIAO:
    oscar: 1.25M
    hatton: 0.85M
    cotto: 1.25M
    mosley: 1.3M
    jmm3: 1.41M

    TOT: 6.06M
    AVE: 1.212M

and basically, the numbers were skewed by the oscar fight which happened 5 and 4 years ago respectively where both floyd and pac were B-side. if you compute the common-opponent average when both are A-side... both would have roughly the same average.

    FLOYD:
    hatton - 0.925M
    jmm - 1.05M
    mosley - 1.4M
    cotto - 1.5M

    TOT: 4.875M
    AVE: 1.218M

    PACQUIAO:
    hatton: 0.85M
    cotto: 1.25M
    mosley: 1.3M
    jmm3: 1.41M

    TOT: 4.81M
    AVE: 1.202M

Pac is never going to get nowhere near this kind of money without fighting Floyd.

Yes this is good for the people who felt my example was over their head, lol ..... Its pretty simple Floyd generates more income and PPV's , therefore he deserves the bigger split. Arum knows this, thayt's why he doesn't want to do the fight becuase Floyd (his former fighter) will make more than him and thats something he rather not deal with.

You like the $30-35M he made against Marquez and Mosley? :think

LOL, that's not biased at all...:patsch

This is Pac's case for 50-50, it's a pretty good one:

Pac has been PPV King 2 of last 3 years going head to head with Floyd (If Mayweather wins this year it will still only be 2-2, and 3-3 if you want to include their B-side fights vs DLH)
