Clinton Woods neat Glen Johnson. And Eric Harding beat Antonio Tarver.

Roy lost because he was shot to pieces. Not because he stepped up opposition.

    :rofl:lol::rofl

Hilarious. The gap in confidence was huge. Roy Jones at that point in his career was a shell of a shell of a shell of a shell of a shell of what he once was and beyond that. Calzaghe could jump in with impunity and smack Roy around. Skill?? LMAO! Not even.

So Hopkins doesn't have Sosa on his resume or you just left that out because ...

Roy Jones has one great prime win on his resume = James Toney

Woods was lucky to win any of his 3 fights with Johnson. I had Johnson winning all 3 times.

Tarver had a broken Jaw against Harding and even Ali himself was not able to win a decision when he had his jaw broken. The rematch between Tarver and Harding was a better reflection of their abilities.

But agree that it was more to do with a decline in Jones Jr rather than slightly better opposition. I could tell Roy was not right during his ring walk for the first Tarver fight, his body simply didn't look the same. Though Tarver would have always given Jones problems based on his skills and fighting style.

Regardles how you scored the Johnson fights, Roy toyed with the likes of James Toney and Bernard Hopkins, disposed of guys like Malinga and Virgil Hill as if they were mere annoyances.

Roy probably could have had a longer career had the Tarver KO not occured. Yes he was severly faded, but he wasnt gun shy yet. I believe that Roy's fear of being hit and unwillingness to throw punches in case of being hit, resulted in his rapid deterioration.

It's funny to see that everyone's excuse is that RJJ was a shot fighter. Sure the losses to Lebedev, Calzaghe, Green, and Hopkins II were probably due to age, but not every loss. Let's not forget he was still Mr. Untouchable. He just got too cocky against the wrong guy and was blasted. Same with Johnson.

Great fighter, very durable, but certain styles only work against certain fighters. When guys don't give a **** about being embarrassed or taunted....then you have a problem. That is why he lost to Glen Johnson and Tarver twice. Look at Tysons style, didn't work against people who didn't get intimidated.

2002-09-07 Clinton Woods - title holder, beat glen johnson
    2002-02-02 Glen Kelly - sucked
2001-07-28 Julio Cesar Gonzalez - beat dariusz m
2001-02-24 Derrick Harmon- beat glen johnson
2000-09-09 Eric Harding - beat tarver
2000-05-13 Richard Hall - tough but limited
2000-01-15 David Telesco - tough but limited
1999-06-05 Reggie Johnson - former title holder with a win over the almighty steve collins.
    1999-01-09 Richard Frazier - terrible
1998-11-14 Otis Grant - beat ryan rhodes
1998-07-18 Lou Del Valle - title holder

plus you left out virgil hill in '98.

not exactly murderers row of opponents but not as bad as you make it look. gonzalez, harding and johnson were solid wins.

Keeping in mind who RJJ is and what he's achieved and all that ATG talent, yes. Without RJJ in the discussion both Green and Lebedev are nothing special.
