If he can't secure a rematch he should retire.

He should have retired 6-7 years ago. But he didn't and he won't, so I hope he gets a re-match against Valuev. And then retires, please.

Before the Valuev fight, i would have answered yes. Now, i think he deserves a rematch and a chance to become the oldest HW champion ever. He proves he can beat Vauev (altought i suspect Valuev will come out more aggressive next time...wich will never be that much anyway). Chop the tree and then retire Holy.

That being said, this is a fight i probably won't watch live. Maybe on a really really boring night where i don't have any cleanup to do in my appartment...

No way Valuev was trying that night. I think he was taking it easy on Holyfield. But anyay, holyfield deserves a rematch.

I agree. This time Chagaev will do even better. Valuev is slowing down for the last couple of fights. Age is starting to tell.

Why don't they reverse the decision? Rematches might sometimes be different and Holy did win.

I don't think he'll get the rematch - Chagaev might even have a promise to get the winner from this fight that he could take to court to try to enforce (isn't that how things are done when the sanctioning bodies make **** up as they go along like "Champion in Recess"?).

But, surprisingly, if he can get it, I don't begrudge it to him. I've been dying for him to retire, but that's a bitter pill to swallow. If he can get it, I'd say take it. My fear is he'll go after Chagaev after he outpoints Valuev (which he will, unless his injuries have crippled him). Good to hear the Klits have been saying they have no interest in fighting him. That's the classy thing to do, even in the long run if it does postpone a unification; I'd never blame either for passing up that fight. Even if Vander doesn't think so, it does show respect.

Ordinarily I would say retire long ago, but with the current division he could be competetive, so if he wants/needs to make some money, make some money.

Holyfield just dominated a heavyweight champion.

What incentive does he have to retire now???

The fight was a sham designed to get people to do exactly what they're doing- fall for buying the rematch so both guys can make another fat payday without taking any damage whatsoever, again.
