Should Holyfield's ATG ranking be affected by the case of "Evan Fields"??

    Should his career be questioned?

That's a tough question as it's difficult for me to determine when he likely (and I do believe he was) using performance enhancing drugs. If it was in the late 90s or so, I don't think it should really have much of an effect eitherway seeing how he had already done most of his major accomplishments by then anyway, and most of the things post 1990s ended up being a negative for his legacy as it is.

My personal inclination is that Evander started using PEDs around the time he moved up to heavyweight. It seems quite coincidental that he lost his hair and started to experience heart troubles and became even more bulked up than he already was.

Therefore, if I'm right in my thinking that he started using in the late 80s/early 90s, I think it should definitely be taken into consideration.

At the same time though, there is no PED for heart, and Evander won some of his biggest fights by digging deep and showing absolutely immense heart and bravery.

I don't count it against him much. I don't feel he was physically superior to his top tier opponents even when using. He was naturally quite a bit smaller, and if this levelled the playing field and gave us such great fights, I'm all for it.

I feel the same way about Pacquiao now.

I don't think so. My personal feeling is that a lot of the guys he fought were also on something.
Doesn't make the Evan Fields thing right...I'm by no means condoning it, but he certainly wasn't the only guy on something, imo.

Evander was always at a disadvantage. So I would say no.

Depends how much you buy in to it really. Personally I'm pretty sure he used it at some point in his career, however have him at 9 in my top 10 heavyweights
