Should Hopkins fight Dawson later on this year?

What do you guys think? I think he should, why not? Since Calzaghe don't wanna do it, Hopkins should take the pleasure in fighting him, the same way Joe didn't wanna fight Pavlik and Hopkins took the pleasure in fighting Pavlik.

Hopkins said he wants nothing to do with Dawson

    1. Good chance of losing
    2. Dawson can't attract flies to **** = not enough $$$ for bhop

That's because of Showtime, Dawson also has to fight Tavoris Cloud after he beats Tarver, there is no way out of that unless he drops his belt. It really depends if Cloud wants to fight someone else before fighting Dawson. If Cloud decides to fight Clinton Woods than Dawson is available.

IBF rules are very strict when it comes to mandatories.

    Whats the point ?

No one has a ****ing clue who Dawson is, and when Hopkins schools him like he did to Pavlik all the crusaders on here will be like well Dawson was overated anyway and move on to the next hype job.

I think number 2 sounds the most Logical. Plus Dawson is just starting his career to try and achieve greatness. So I guess from B-Hop's perspective(since he already dominated a young talented fighter already) it would be unfair because Dawson is trying to get where he's at. It definetly ain't cause Hopkins doesn't think he could beat him, cause Bernard loves Challenges and if he had to fight Dawson he definetly wouldn't mind doing it.

If Hopkins fights one more time this yr. I have a hunch this could be the fight, cause if you really think about it, there's nobody else out there for him to fight unless he moves in weight to fight a heavyweight.

When is Dawson going to fight somebody who's younger than 39?

But Dawson wouldn't be without a belt except the IBO. It's not like Tavoris Cloud wants to fight him right away, although he was until Tarver-Dawson II was postponed.

It all depends on Cloud if he thinks he's ready. He hasn't fought in a year, if I were him I would shake off the ring rust, but because he's the mandatory he can opt to fight Dawson right away. Cloud wants Clinton Woods, but I doubt Woods wants a piece of Cloud.

As much as i would want to see the fight, this is kind of true. I can see this happening. i don't think either fighter would get the credit they deserve for fighting each other.

I love me some B-Hop but he knows he can't beat Dawson right now. Dawson would give hopkins the same problems Roy Jones and Jermain Taylor did....he's a young gifted athletic boxer with very fast hands that punches in combination. Think Hopkins would try to make it an ugly technical fight and clinch a lot to smother Dawson's punches, but he would lose a decision just like he did to Jones, Taylor and Calzaghe based on activity....and Dawson is a bigger, better, faster and smarter fighter than Taylor is IMO. Hopkins is a masterful counterpuncher, but I think he's learned that the judges will always rule against him against the faster, flashier guy who throws more punches. :good.....safer and more winnable option for Hopkins would be to move up and fight Adamek like was being discussed, stay at 175 and fight Glen Johnson or RJJ or dropped down to 168 and fight Kessler or one of the other belt holders there....I'd love to see Hopkins in the mix at 168 against the likes of Kessler, Froch or even a rematch with Taylor!

    That's exactly right.

Besides this, Dawson should rematch Johnson before anything.
