Won't happen, Dawson doesn't have the drawing power.

    1st point, semi-correct.

2nd point, way off. Dawson beats Hopkins easier than Calzaghe did.

I'd love to see this fight. Imo, Hopkins has only got 2 logical fights to make for himself. Dawson for the undisputed championship at 175 or Adamek for cruiserweight supremacy. Jones, Johnson, Kessler, Taylor etc are nothing to BHOP at this stage.

    How old was Adamek? Right.

Anyways Hopkins has said he has no interest in Dawson and to be quite frank, His points are valid.

1- Nobody would give him credit if he beats an undefeated fighter these days because then instead of giving him props, he'd say they were just overrated.

2- He's not looking for legacy at this point but money and Dawson doesn't have it.

3- The young lions of the sport should be fighting each other and not him.

1: Yes of course he would receive credit. It'd be a harsh critic or just blind hater who refused to credit Hopkins with beating a fighter like Dawson, especially at 44. Pending on the manner of victory it could go dopwn as his best ever.

2: If he's not looking for legacy at this stage then he should simply retire.

3: I have to disagree. If Hopkins is going to continue fighting, then the young lions have every right to call him out. How much could a fighter like Dawson learn from being in the ring with Hopkins? I'm betting on a damn sight more than what he'd learn from beating the snot out of Tarver again.

Look at the lack of credit he gets for the Pavlik win. He said he's tired of fighting young lions because they become overrated when he fights them.

His legacy is pretty much set. It can't get much better and it can't get much worse. His bank account at this point is much more important to him. Do I like it? Hell no. That said it's what he thinks nowadays.

You're preaching to the choir. Dawson/Hopkins is the fight to see IMO. Yes they DO have every right to call him out...but he doesn't have to listen to them. That said Hopkins' attitude is that the young guys should be clearing each other out because they're the future and they need to figure out who the #1 guy is without him.

Honestly which has more say for the future. Dawson vs Tavoris Cloud or Dawson vs Hopkins? Dawson-Hopkins would be the better fight but two undefeated LHW fighters with exciting styles is kind of what boxing needs really.
