Hi all as you may know i am new here and have been reading up on old threads and ive noticed a few about what to consume after a workout.
Is this something i should be worried about?
Is it really a good idea to consume 30-40 even 50grams of basicly sugar after a workout?
If this is indeed true is there anything you would recommend taking with me to the gym? I can't really use milk because it will be in my bag for ages and what not.

Google has mixed answers my friend. And most of the ones that do support it are bodybuilders/ on a bodybuilding site.
I also find it a good idea to ask for other people experiences. If it helps people who train similarly to me then its worth trying.

Penut buyer sandwich or anything with a good amount of protien in it. And I would say yes what you eat right after is verry important. Eating the wrong things after working out can make you feel like crap the following day

I use these. They really do work (no employee). You just add water. They don't taste too bad either.

Don't have money to spend on supplements these days so i was looking for more normal foods. I read somewhere that cereal would be good

It's simple. A protein shake after you work out, and then a protein-packed meal within an hour after that...

i'll usually have one of those small bottles of low sugar gatorade immediately after my workout since my gym is 20 minutes away then a protein shake with fruit and 2% milk. I give that a few hours then whatever dinner I have that day is going to be lean meat with rice and i make sure to get some green vegetables in. May not exactly be an ideal diet for maximum fitness or whatever but I know i'm not going to wreck whatever work I put in that day and I know i'm getting my protein requirements. That's just me though. Don't overdo it with whatever food you eat on your training days really.

If you're going to take a protein shake, I'd much rather take it in the hours before. It's the protein that is already digested that is going to be used immediately after you train, not a shake with excessive amounts of protein just for the sake of 'making sure you get enough protein into the muscles'.
