Librado Andrade lost every single amateur fight he ever had, and then went on to be 24-0 as a pro before meeting Kessler, a fight which he made $500,000 for. And in October he's fighting for another world title. Some people's styles don't suit the am's and sometimes people need to learn the hard way. As well some people aren't cut out for it, and if you're asking if you should quit, then yes you should. If you're going to be commited to something you're going to have to love it and never question it.
In Librado's defense; I think he did win 2 amateur fights. But he's susceptible to being outboxed. But anyone can rack up a 24-0 record if they have some amateur experience and a decent promoter and manager to get the right fights in the pros.
Quit before you get hurt. You have already be down 2 times. You just don;t have the chin to be a boxer.
i ad a mate who went 1- 13 as a junior the 1 bein his last junior fight then as a senior started winnin n e ended up fightin 4 england
Definatley NOT. Ive heard of guys who lost there first 10-15 bouts then became senior and started cleaning up. Like joe said. Also Loadsa guys with amazing records to start with then suddenly becoming bob seemingly over night.
if your currently 0 - 5 why are you your trainer and the officials allowing you to fight a man with 11 fights? seriously your novice he is open why or how did this happen?
they call it galvanisation. you may have a jab and maybe some power and even decent conditioning in the gym but once you hit a moving opponant it doesnt always compute. after a while it will all flow together. you wont look any different and you wont fight any different but you will win fights. also you got to find your style. besides, you are winning rounds. gettign knocked down is a shame but usually it's just the shock of leather smacking your face. the usual response with me was to turn away (embarassing in the gym), it was natural to do but looks terrible and can lose you rounds and lose you fights. whats your conditioning like. to me you seem to judah. get off to a decent start, then just dont have enough puff to finish it though. conditioning goes a long long way. most boxers win due to there stamina alone.
I was a junior at the time (under 17) and when I would sign up for Junior olympics and stuff there was ussually only one oppenant for it. And they happened to have more fights. If there were kids with equal amount of fights they would have matched me with em. Just at that age group there was no1 else to fight. So I foguht kids with 10 more fights a few time. Also I don't know if I wasn't clear or something, but I wasn't actually knocked down I just got standing 8. Which means ref wasn't sure if I was ok or not and you have to just show you want to fight by putting your hands up. First time I got one I was stunned from a combo second time I got one it was cause I wasn't throwin any cause I was tired so he wanted to make sure I was still ok. And I was so I don't think chin is my problem. I'm pretty sure it is just stamina. I need to figure out a good running program and stick to it. I know for fact I am not too slow or not strong enough. In every fight I have thrown less punches so I need to change that now.
