Should Jermain Taylor Demand That Andre Ward Engage in Pre-Fight Blood Testing?

    This question, of course, comes from the current Mayeather-Pacquiao flap in which Team Mayweather is insisting on never-failed-a-drug-test-in-fifteen-years Manny Pacquiao being forced to submit to random blood testing before the fight.

    Unlike Pacquiao, however, who has no known ties to shady steroid distributors, Andre Ward has admitted to working with disgraced BALCO mastermind Victor Conte. That relationship has raised questions among observers about the legitimacy of Ward's achievements as a professional.

    So, the question for the thread is this:

    Taylor has a better case than has Mayweather because of Ward's ties to Conte.

    Lol. If it was someone like AA or a European asking Ward to take the test, the hypocrites would be up in arms.

    Well since Conte himself has come out and stated that only completely random Olympic style testing will work for what boxers are most likely to use (blood doping) and Ward admits to working with Conte and looked like a stamina machine in his last fight, JT should insist upon it (though JT should probably be taking a year off or more).

    It'd be an interesting way of trying to get in Ward's head beforehand, but I don't think it'd be a serious demand if it's even raised at all lol

    Actually in hindsight, Taylor should just sign up with Conte as he could likely "fix" the stamina issues he has

    Boxing needs to have more demanding testing. Its a sport that is going un-checked. Fighters are given the freedom to train and pretty much do whatever they like only having a **** test after the fight. I would see no problem with all fighters being subjected to random testing once they enter training for a fight up to the final post fight test.

    I know that its hard for *******s to understand this being that their man is on the shady side of this subejct right now. I see nothing wrong with Taylor or any other fighter wanting testing.

    Nope. Andre Ward hasn't really done anything to raise any sort of suspicion.

    Conte doesn't get caught by testing anyways. Let 'em test till they get carpal tunnel, Ward ain't coming up positive no matter what.
