He definitely had an outstanding career. I just think he needed to win a few more fights against the top guys of his era. With that said, had he fought in a different era, he may well be in the hall of fame.

On another note, I hope you are doing well Richard. I always enjoy reading your posts.

He’d a borderline case for me. If I were to vote for him it would only be because lesser men have also gotten in.

Another thing I want to bring up is I think persistant contenders from the pre alphabet era should be treated better. Today should a fighter be a champ to make the HOF? Yup. But historically that shouldn't be the case.

Why not? Given the ridiculously low standards for induction to the HoF, he certainly qualifies.

For me it’s a no, although I admire Quarry and think he had a fine career. Just not a HoF career.

But I don’t really have a problem with it ever happening. As noted he wouldn’t be the worst fighter ever inducted, although I figure he’d be somewhere on the lower tier.

Yes, he just happened to be in the most stacked era of the HW division. I rank him 5th best HW of the 70s. Could have found more success perhaps even as an alphabet champion in another decade.

The lack of a belt hurts Quarry's case; but he belongs to an era before the alphabet soup, before it became absurdly easy to get a belt.

I am confident soon or later Quarry will get his due and be inducted in the HoF.
