I didn’t realise that Ali had Parkinson’s in 1976,do you have a source ? If so it’s miraculous that he made 4 more defences after Young and fought on for a further 5 year until losing to Berbick and retiring .

He has to be considered a top 10 heavyweight of the 70s, an era many consider the divisions best. Definitely not a journeyman imo.

No, someone with his record cannot be considered a journeyman.

He lost to Neuman when he'd not yet had 10 fights, and was stopped on a cut I believe against Shavers.

But then he beat Garcia, realistically beat Shavers, beat Lyle twice, beat Foreman and could have easily been given the decisions against Ali and Norton.

When he fell short of the decision against Ocasio there was a very noticeable dip in his performances. His lifestyle took over his love of the game and he was never the same again.

But from 73-78 no one in history is gonna have an easy night against him.

Forget the pretty records, if he's a journeyman what are the like of Briggs, Tua, Byrd who never achieved what he did?

Mike Tyson would have destroyed him.

Tyson didn`t fight like Foreman, Young never faced fast, powerful combo`s like Mike`s plus Mike wa more skilled defensive wise than Foreman.

That doesn`t mean Young would beat Tyson, he didn`t have Foreman`s power or size he had nothing over Tyson.

Yeah I'm assuming with a record as spotty as Youngs if he did fight Foreman he lost, probably by ko.

Foreman would absolutely destroy a smaller man with a record like that.

That's been obvious from the start of this exchange.
