in his last few mega fights hes been highly questionable. floyd v hatton, he was jumping in between them for no reason and other crazy antics floyd v ortiz hes not even watching the action or says box? if you think cortez should go then say yes or no i am very curious to see what the E.S.B members think. Also should H.B.O fire larry merchant again type yes or no. Thank you.
Cortez should go. The ridiculous "fair but firm" line is stupid too since he's proven many times that he's neither of those. Merchant should probably leave but he did nothing wrong in he interview. I just don't think he's a very good commentator now.
Its a mans living were talking about here, but I most certainly don't ever want to see him referee another fight he could very well put a boxers life at risk real soon
I think Cortez is very biased. Watch him in the Floyd vs Hatton fight..yet hes not so keen to stop clinches in many other fights...but he was right on Hatton every single time not allowing Hatton to fight his fight ie smother and swarm.
Yeah unless something big happens in the fight then you know it's a good ref simply by not noticing him.
