If he beats Dawson and Johnson fair enough but i think the money/entertainment fight would be Hopkins II

I'd like him to fight Dawson, that much would shut the haters up, or at least quiet them a little.

For one I really can't blame him for not giving Hopkins a rematch. After the abuse he took then all the bitching afterwords I too would be thinking F^%k you. I also don't think it'll happen because I'm pretty sure the fight will be on Calzaghe's terms. Bigger cut, fighting in Wales and I'm not sure Hopkins will go for that, can't blame him.

I'd love to see the rematch though. I think it would be another close one.

As for Dawson, I feel the same way about that situation as I do Mayweather, though I'm not disputing the obviously superior record of Mayweather. Mayweather should fight the top contenders before retiring as should Joe. After all these guys have earned their shots.

Mayweather - Margarito, Cotto and Paquiao. Regardless of wether we think they're worthy or not they've EARNED it. Hatton rematch after those if he can be assed. Only then will I consider Mayweather as a possible candidate for #1 ATG.

Calzaghe- Dawson, Hopkins II, Johnson/Tarver. Only after these will I consider him an ATG.

I know, makes me laugh. Its like claiming to be a footbal fan, but saying you do not like watching Kaka play beacuse he bores you with his passing.

    Beat Chris Eubank.
Stayed at home for 10 years cherry picking fights.
    Looked good against Lacy.
Had a good fight with Kessler.

Oh and beat 2 old timers, then claiming he`ll go down as one of the greats of boxing.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

    Dude are you for real?

    Did you not see Hopkins-Pavlik?

A Hopkins rematch would be by far the toughest fight.

Dawson and Kessler II are also loseable.

Brewer,Reid,Mitchell,Shieka Woodhall and Salem were all good fights. All the greats have a few unworthy oppostition in there.
The fact is there are not many for Joe to choose from in light heavy Dawson,Johnson....tarver

Where is the "just fight Dawson" option?

I think he should fight Robert Allen 3 times to get TO 49-0 and then fight de la hoya to get to 50.

I don't think there is any going back for Joe now. Only reason to stay in the game is the big pay days. Calzaghe vs. Thornberry II won't do good PPV numbers!
