Should Kessler go for broke or wait until the end to break Calzaghe down first?

kessler will fight how he's always fought.

it would be a mistake to play calzaghe game and fight at a hard pace.

calzaghe is proven at a hard pace.

that is actually my main worry for kessler.

i'm not sure about this kid down the stretch.

he looked quite tired against andrade.

 

He was tired aganist Andrade, because Andrade managed to put pressure on Kessler just about every second of the fight. There was no hanging around in that fight - except a little in the final rounds.

 

and joe can fight at a much hotter pace than andrade. :yep

plus he's shitloads faster. :yep

watch countless calzaghe fights and his pace is one of the impressive things about him.

His speed is impressive, and likewise his stamina. However, his fighting quality isn't consistant throughout the fight. Kessler is the same from first to final bell.

Furthermore, Calzaghe has been down and wounded on several occations. Kessler have never been down as a pro - and rarely stunned.

 

I believe that CHJ believes that quite a few a the highly regarded elites of US boxers are overrated. I think Shane has done great, and haven't backed down from any difficult fights - Forrest, ODLH, Winky, Vargas, and now Cotto. He deserves respect.

I am not sure what he wants to say with the statements, since it doesn't refute that Mosley has been in the elite situations more than once, and Calzaghe hasn't. He has faced a fair deal of good to very good fighters, but lets see how elite Kessler and Cotto are... and how good JC and Mosley are still...
