If, And again its a big if Khan beats Maidana should he fight in Philadelphia against Alexander/Bradley?

I know for Khan to fight in Philly is far from home but he might just do it for his legacy?

I don think theres any reason for him to fight in philadelphia, theres not many big fights going on in philadelphia anymore. All the big fights happen in Las Vegas nowadays so Khans more likely to fight there

For the simple reason that neither Alexander/Bradley or anyone in the top ten would want to fight in the UK? Nor will HBO pay anything near the ammount it would pay for a fight in the US, The gate takings in Philadelphia would be very high aswell as being in the US. Heh even Maidana rejected the UK as a fight venue and thats saying something.

Philly Would be a good venue for the Khan -V- Alexander/Bradley if Khan can get past Maidana and thats a massive if.

Khan -V- Bradley/Alexander would make more money in Philly than anywhere in the Uk, Possibly more than anywhere else in the US.

Its a great city that deserves a good fight like this.

Short of the romantic idea as Philly as Americas fight town, of gym wars, the Blue Horizon club, Joe Fraziers gym etc. theres no reason why Khan should ever fight there either from a legacy or a financial point of view.

In that case it makes no sense either from a legacy or a financial point of view for Khan to fight in the UK ever again given that he will always earn less from HBO if the fight is in the UK, Also none of the top 10 JWW will ever agree to fight in the Uk

What about if he loses a couple and HBO drop him (as they are very quick to do with fighters who lose)? He'll be glad of Skys money and the UK live gate reciepts then.

At the moment if he's getting more money for fighting in the USA or the other guys in the division will only fight him in America then good luck to him, he should fight in America.

However, plucking Philly out of the air as fight venue for "legacy" purposes is absolutely nothing to do with any of that though. Its just a town that you've heard old boxing stories about and that you think would be "cool" if Khan fought there....those are not good enough reasons for to Khan to fight Bradley, Alexander or anyone else in Philly.

Yeah if he looses he will go back to being a backyard fighter ala Calzaghe/Hatton, But you got to give him some credit he is fighting in the US at a much younger age than any of those two fought.

Im simply saying he gets paid more to fight in the US than in the UK, HBO offered him a fraction of the money if he fought in the UK against Maidana as opposed to US, So even Maidana didnt want to fight in the UK.

Unless Khan looses it makes no sense for him to fight in the UK again legacy or financial, As for Philly yes it does have that romantic notion you mentioned but its always been and always will be a good American fight town. Where better to host Khan -V- Bradley/Alexander than Philly I bet the gate wont be as high anywhere else.

Its a good place to fight.

" Where better to host Khan -V- Bradley/Alexander than Philly I bet the gate wont be as high anywhere else."

Holding it at a Vegas casino will probably generate more money for all concerned so I guess that would be "better" from Khans/ HBOs/ GBPs/ Bradleys point of view??

Philly won't turn out in big numbers Khan vs. Bradley and Alexander. Philly isn't even well known for turning out in particulary large numbers to support its OWN fighters.

Its known a fight town because of the gyms, the tough sparing, the small hall shows, the mentality of its fighters and not because its fans will turn up to watch 2 fighters they don't care about.

You really are clueless at times.

Hatton followed the normal model, just as Naz did. They are UK fighters, so the firstly get promoted in the UK and over time begin to generate good money, however as they have no recognition in the states if they went to fought there they would make far less money. It would be stupidity to fight in the states at that point. So you have to fight in the UK untill your name gets to the point where you can go to the states, fight the top fighters and earn more than you would in the UK.

Warren said the same thing prior to Khan signing with GBP, however Khan circumvented it by getting a minimum guarantee from GBP. That isn't the norm.
