Should Khan jump straight to Welter weight and clean up?

Thanks mate. Still touch & go at the moment but Stoke lost last night so it's still anybodies. I fear the gulf between the championship & premiership is getting ever bigger & it would be another season in the doldrums if we do go up but it's still worth it for the money.

Obviuosly this would all have to be done by mid to late 09. Once he has cleaned up Welter he could take a gimme against a light middle belt holder and then try his hand at full middle.

Jeff I would like to see Khan at light heavy one day but the opponents have got to be right. Khan is known for only wanting to fight the best so he will not waste his time fighting guys who are not up to his standard.

Is this a joke? Call me when he stops fighting midgets.

The 140 divisions got too much talent for that chief anyway, he'd get exposed.

Witter would the knock Khan the **** out if they fought at 140.

:good Glad theres people out there who really know there stuff. How do you think Khan would have gone on in a catch weight against a prime Tyson? I like a Khan UD. He'd be too fast and I think as long as his chin holds up like it did against St Clair he'll be ok.

    what av u been smokin
hes gd but we havent seen him against fighters with either good ko records or noteable
im not sayin e wont in the future
tho junior witter an hatton could give him hell at 140
casa , juan diaz , cambell , an possibly katsidas would do the same
cotto , cintron , mayweather , berto , williams an quintana would ktfo him

A prime Mike Tyson was an amazing beast and could be a pick to beat any fighter in history so you would have to say Khan would have his work cut out. But once Khan put the weight on to get to heavy his power would be too much for Tyson plus Amir Khan has great skill and ring craft. Khan would be looking to getr through the first couple of rounds and then pile on the pressure. I would have it 60/40 in Khans favour but I would not be surprised to see Tyson score a KO although not by a one punch shot.

I still can not believe the doubters out there. Anyone who thinks Khan cannot domiate all the figfhters upto Welter is an idiot. I think in two or three fights he needs to be fighting Cotto (if he comes through Gomes) or PBF.

Anyone who says Khan should be heading to 140 clearly needs their head read.

What may I ask is the point in that? In terms of depth of talent, the division is useless. They are so far beneath Khan its not true!

Khan should be heading to a marquee division in any case. 147 OK that would be cool but as Dwilson and Jeff said, the legacy defining fights lie at Middleweight and Light Heavy with a view in the future to a move up to Heavyweight. These damn cretin midgets at 135 and 140 bring nothing to the table by comparision in terms of money or legacy.
